"Il Rosa non è il mio colore": musica e poesia per la parità con AlterAzioni

Friday, September 22, 2025, starting at 8:30 PM, at the Cloister of Santa Croce (Municipal Library) in Bisceglie, the concert-event "HIDDEN SOUNDS" will take place, organized by the AlterAzioni Association, with the sponsorship of the Regional Council of Puglia and the Municipality of Bisceglie.

The concert is part of the project "Pink is Not My Color", a mini festival of itinerant concerts dedicated to women and gender equality, which was among the projects financed by the call for proposals “Futura. Puglia for Equality – 3rd edition”, organized by the Regional Council of Puglia.

The project ranked 14th out of 28 in the Regional Ranking with a score of 58/66 out of a total of 109 applications, awarded the AlterAzioni Association, the only association from Bisceglie present in the said ranking.

The program includes three concerts, two in Bisceglie, dedicated respectively to female composers of the past, the first, and of our contemporary time, the second, while the third concert will be held in Minervino Murge on October 26th, along with concert-lessons at the "Tattoli-De Gasperi" Comprehensive Institute in Corato.

The project proposal aims to enhance and rediscover, through the socio-cultural context in which they lived, female authors of undeniable artistic value who were forgotten for years.

These include composers and performers who often had to give up their musical careers due to social conventions or the demands of traditional roles as wives and mothers. Not just music, but also Poetry and Science.

In fact, two well-known voices from our region have been invited to the upcoming events in representation of Apulian poetry; Maria Teresa Bari, on September 22, and Lucia Diomede, for the second concert scheduled in November, while Dr. Antonella Sgaramella, former teacher at the "L.Da Vinci" Scientific High School in Bisceglie, now serving at the International School of Varese, who has been organizing educational and research activities in collaboration with the international space station for years, will be a guest at the concert scheduled in Minervino Murge.

Our guests will be featured in a brief initial talk conducted by Maestro Vito Liturri, in which they will share their experiences as artists, poets, scientists, and educators.

The first concert will feature the string quartet AlterAzioni, composed of violinists Clelia Sguera and Matteo Notarangelo, Francesco Capuano, on viola, and Donatella Milella on cello.

The program includes music by female composers who lived between the 1600s and 1800s, interspersed with poetic verses by Maria Teresa Bari.

Not forgetting the immediate reference territory of our city, the AlterAzioni Association will dedicate the first concert to the memory of Mrs. Lucia Pasquale, a violinist, pianist, and accordionist who passed away a few years ago, whose legacy, thanks to the generosity of her heirs, is still alive in the city's memory.
