Il leggendario batterista Corky Laing, membro storico della celebre Rock band Mountain, arriva in tour in Italia a settembre.
Farà tappa al Pecora Nera country pub di Cassano delle Murge (BA), per farci rivivere le emozioni dei grandi classici dei Mountain insieme ad alcuni brani del suo ultimo album “Toledo Sessions”.
Corky Laing ha lasciato un’impronta indelebile nella storia della musica. Laing continua a dimostrare il suo talento e la sua passione per la musica, sfoggiando una tecnica inconfondibile e uno stile unico, che lo rendono un vero maestro del suo strumento.
Un’autentica istituzione della musica rock: i Mountain di Corky Laing, unico superstite e storico batterista della leggendaria band che, sul finire degli anni ’60, ha contribuito a gettare le basi dell’hard’n’heavy. Noto per essere stato, assieme al compianto Leslie West e a Felix Pappalardi, il cuore pulsante dei Mountain, Corky Laing ha anche collaborato con icone quali Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, Ian Hunter e Jack Bruce, che sostituì Pappalardi per il power trio West/Bruce/Laing, senza dimenticare i Cork, power trio completato da Eric Schenkman degli Spin Doctors e Noel Redding della Jimi Hendrix Experience. La sua batteria è un mix esplosivo di tecnica e istinto, di groove e passione, un vero testimone vivente della storia del rock.

Laing (oltre ad essere stato il batterista dal 1970 dei Mountain) ha suonato con alcuni dei più grandi nomi della musica rock, contribuendo a definire il sound di generazioni di appassionati di musica. Con i Mountain, ha dato vita a successi indimenticabili come “Mississippi Queen” e “Nantucket Sleighride” insieme a Leslie West, che continuano a risuonare nei cuori di milioni di fan in tutto il mondo.
Laing è un vero pioniere della musica rock, un pilastro della scena musicale che ha influenzato e ispirato numerose band e musicisti. La sua carriera e il suo talento senza pari, rimarranno nella memoria di chiunque abbia avuto il privilegio di ascoltarlo dal vivo.

Laurence Gordon "Corky" Laing was born in Montreal Canada on January 26, 1948 as the youngest of five siblings. Formed a number of local bands with his best friend, George Gardos.
lived the high life of rock.was awarded with gold records.was inducted to the Long Island Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and he continues to perform, write and produce.
While Corky Laing is best known as the powerhouse rock drummer with the group Mountain, his career has lasted well past the supergroup where he made his name. Laing left Energy in 1969, replacing drummer N.D. Smart and joining electric bass guitarist Felix Pappalardi and guitarist Leslie West in Mountain, who along with Cream and Blue Cheer, became one of the seminal power trios in modern heavy psychedelic rock music.

Mountain released three albums in two years on the independent Windfall label and produced the mega-hit "Mississippi Queen." But Pappalardi went on hiatus while Laing and West formed, West, Bruce & Laing with former Cream bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce, producing two studio albums and a live release for the Epic label. Mountain re-formed in 1974, issued two more albums, and broke up again. In late 1975, Laing played congas for several tracks on Bo Diddley's all-star album The 20th Anniversary of Rock N' Roll. Mountain again reassembled in 1985 and Laing has sustained a working relationship with them.
In 2003, Laing and West produced Nantucket Sleighride & Other Mountain On-The-Road Stories, a historical overview of their time with Mountain and tales of touring. 2007 kept Laing busy, recording Stick It, an audio version of his memoirs.
Since 2015 Corky has been touring the world celebrating the musical legacy of Mountain.
