Balletto del Sud presents "From Italy, With Love"

Choreographer Fredy Franzutti creates a performance that is a stroll through the beauties and masterpieces of Italy, featuring music from Monteverdi, Rossini, Verdi, Cilea, Mascagni, as well as songs by Tosti, Mina, Battisti, Battiato, Vecchioni, Lauzi, and Conte.

The Balletto del Sud returns to the stage in Lecce with the show “From Italy, with love” on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, at the Chiostro of the former Monastery of Teatini at 21:30.

The program, through Franzutti's choreography, showcases some of the hallmark traits of Italian spirit and atmospheres. The music, composed by Italian authors from the 16th to the 20th century, includes famous pieces from the melodrama repertoire and other titles from light music that have become a part of Italian musical tradition.

Notable composers such as Monteverdi, Rossini, Verdi, Cilea, and Mascagni will feature alongside iconic songs by Tosti, Mina, Battisti, Battiato, Vecchioni, Lauzi, and Conte. This performance is designed for tourists and audiences ready to be pleasantly surprised and enjoy a carefree evening, reminiscent of wandering as tourists through streets lined with historic buildings, statues, and masterpieces.

Ticket prices are: €20 for full price and €15 for reduced (under 25 and over 65/ProLoco members), while Unisalento students and staff can purchase tickets for €10.
