Richard West aka Mr. C,
Dj internazionale, produttore innovativo, fondatore di plink plonk e Shamen, Mr C è emerso come una forza pionieristica nella scena house degli anni ‘90 e ha continuato ad essere uno strumento per la proliferazione di musica dance su scala globale.

Il suo impegno è sempre stato quello di sperimentare e credere nei nuovi standard in tutti i sotto-generi della musica, guadagnando prestigio in tutto il mondo.

Lavora in radio a Londra e ne diventa subito Mc. Il suo primo disco esce nel 1987 con Eddie Richards, 'Page 67', subito dopo prende i giradischi e diventa un DJ. Si afferma come uno dei più grandi nomi a Londra.

Shamen prende vita a metà degli anni '80 come un atto scozzese psichedelico, ispirato da gruppi come i Pink Floyd. Pubblica l’album di debutto 'The Drop', e subito dopo il secondo album, 'In Gorbacev We Trust'.

Paul Oakenfold raccomanda Mr C, e nasce una di quelle combinazioni di caratteri diversi portandoli a produrre acid house. "Ma tutto era totalmente in linea con le mie idee buddiste / sperimentali. The Shamen trasformano il mondo della musica rock club e partono con un tour chiamato Synergy che unisce Paul Oakenfold e Mixmaster Morris come dj e Mr C come rapper. Tra il 1988-1990 Mr C anche trovato il tempo per suonare come DJ resident al Mangled al The Barn a Braintree, Essex. Nel 1992 pubblicano l'album 'Drum Boss', prodotto e scritto da Colin Angus & Mr.C e interpretato da Mr C con cantante Jhelisa Anderson.

Mr C continua la sua vita come un sotterraneo attivatore. Nel 1992, fonda l'etichetta Plink Plonk. "Stavo cercando di sperimentare musica elettronica nei club", dice Mr C. L'etichetta fa da pioniere per produttori, come Derrick Carter e Stacey Pullen.
Apre a Londra il West End, "Abbiamo voluto realizzare un club che ha rappresenta il nostro credo nella musica e l'elettronica", dice Mr C. Nel 2002, club come Fabric e 333 Old St proggettano un menu di musica underground, ma alla fine il West End è il primo a creare una formula techno, house e drum di successo rappresentando uno standard internazionale per l'alta qualità dance elettronica. Primo a creare un collegamento con Detroit presentando leggende come Claude Young e Derrick May. Lancia diversi artisti come DJ Sneak, Robert Owens, e lo stesso Mr C nel suo genere: tech-house.

Mr.C inizia a promuovere l’underground a Londra all'inizio del 1988: Fantasy (88), Base (89), Release (con Nathan Coles nel 91), Harmony (92), The Drop (93), Vapourspace (94), Subterrain (95-2002), Superfreq (2002-oggi ).
E’ DJ su Kiss FM, Londra dal 1994 al 2002.
Mr.C ha anche registrato sotto i nomi: Myster-E (con Eddie Richards), Nu Jacks (con Femi B), The Shamen (con Colin Angus), Somnambulist (con Paul RIP), Mantrac, Animus Amor (con JY), Killer Loop (con Layo), Mr.C & Tom Parris e ora si registra solo come Mr.C o con il suo partner di produzione Adultnapper come Sycophant Slag's.

Mr.C nel 2002 inizia ad organizzare gli eventi Superfreq che attualmente troviamo l'ultima Domenica di ogni mese al The End / AKA (www.endclub.com) e il Sabato di ogni mese al Club Junk , Southampton (www.junkclub.com). Superfreq esce anche come evento MADE in New York www.madeevent.com Superfreq è anche in eventi a Avaland a Los Angeles e ha avuto 5 stagioni fantastiche a Ibiza, 3 al metro e 2 stagioni al DC10.
Mr.C ha anche studiato "Spiritualità e arte della recitazione" per 3 anni, le quali hanno aperto molte porte nella sua vita personale migliorando tutti gli aspetti della sua vita artistica.

Mr.C è sempre stato avanti, specialmente con i suoi cambi nei generi musicali oggi in versione club-elettronica.
