Gli Skaddìa, sono nati per omaggiare le melodie, i canti, le nenie e gli stornelli della nostra zona, comunemente denominata “Altosalento” , col fine di valorizzarne i suoi tramandanti, le tecniche sviluppate, i ricordi vivi e sottili, e per preservarne e trasmetterne la conoscenza rituale e tradizionale, incorporata nella memoria di quest’ angolo di Puglia.
Attraverso l’ esecuzione del nostro repertorio, si mira a far conoscere, in particolar modo ai giovani, il patrimonio culturale della nostra terra d'origine per aumentarne il senso di appartenenza, la conoscenza della propria storia e della propria cultura e per rafforzare l'orgoglio delle proprie origini.
Obiettivo del gruppo musicale e’ la trasmissione veritiera di una parte della nostra produzione poetica-musicale, affidata solo ed esclusivamente alla tradizione orale, quindi le pizziche, i canti, gli stornelli sono stati raccolti dall’ ascolto della viva voce dei vecchietti, dei nostri nonni e prozii.
Il nostro e’ un bel repertorio di musica tradizionale, fatto di pizziche, polche e anche quadriglie nostrane, dalle quali, sovente l’ ascoltatore viene rapito e coinvolto nel ballo. Tutte le esecuzioni sono state basate sulla ricerca di musiche e canti della tradizione pugliese ed il repertorio si articola tra pizziche delle varie zone, da quella piu’ conosciuta di San Vito dei Normanni a quella di Carovigno, da quella di Ceglie Messapica a quella particolarissima di Ostuni ed i canti di lavoro nei campi a quelli composti per amore.
I componenti del gruppo sono stati scelti, oltre che per la bravura e particolarita’ d’ esecuzione, anche in base alla provenienza, affinche’ ognuno di loro potesse contribuire in maniera autentica alla esecuzione dei brani e della musica.


Dancing, singing and music have been essential to the party spirit as long as we can remember and it is exactly what Skaddìa transmits during its live concerts. The Skaddìa band was born as a tribute to the melodies, songs, and lullabies of our land. Denominated "Altosalento", the songs, dances and music reflect the hopes, humour and the perseverance of our cultural background in a distinctive and characteristic Italian manner, in particular to our Apulian corner.
The inherent characteristics and special rhythms and tempos for these particular dances were accurately handed down over the centuries. Through our performances, we are going to demonstrate, in particular to the young audience, our cultural estate, in order to increase the sense of belonging, the knowledge of our story and culture and to reinforce the proudness of our origins and traditions.
Our band's goal is the real transmission of a part of our musical-poetical production, entrusted only and exclusively to the oral tradition; therefore the "pizziche", the song and the stornelli have been gathered from the listening of live voice of the old people and of our grandparents.
Our repertoire is a special folk music repertoire, composed of pizziche, polche and quadriglie from whom the audience is enraptured and involved in the dances, composed of: pizziche from different lands, from the most known "Pizzica di San Vito " to the " Pizzica di Villa Castelli" from the "Pizzica di Carovigno" to the most particular "Pizzica di Ostuni" and from the songs of the field workers to the songs composed for love. The instuments used are ancient intruments: zampogna, tamburello, lira, organetto diatonico.
The members of the band have been selected for their cleverness, ability and particularity of execution and from the various proveniences in order to maintain the authenticity of the pieces and of the musics.

Die Herkunft der ,,SKADDIA" kommt von nord Salento. Das Freie Exemplar der Melodie,der Gesang,die Klagelieder,der Zoll,von dieser Ortschaft soll bewirken,durch die Musik wichtige Botschaften zu ueberreichen. Durch die technische Entwicklung versuchen wir mit der Musik die lebendige und feine Erinnerungen,der tradizionelle Rituale,von diesen Teil der Ampulien,zu schuetzen.
Durch unsere Aufuehrung,soll der Jugend gezeigt werden,das die aussergewoehnlichen Eigenschaften,unseren originalen Platz auch einen Wert zu geben. Die Musikalische Gruppe moechte das Objektiv durch ihre poetische Musik der kulturellen Geschichte den stolz zu staerken.
Die sogenannte,,LE PIZZICHE" sind Klagelieder,(Zoll),tradizioneller Gesang,sind von unseren Vorfahren gesammelte Reportagen,anvertraut worden. Sie sind exclusive zusammengefasste Polker und einheimische Quadrille der tradizionellen Musik. Die Zuhoerer werden sehr schnell durch die Musik in den Tanz verwickelt. Die Musik und der Gesang kommt aus der bestimmten Zone:SAN VITO DEI NORMANNI,CAROVIGNO,CEGLIE MESSAPICA und hauptsaechlich von OSTUNI. Diese Lieder wurden von den Bauern bei Feldarbeit fuer ihre Geliebten ergruendet. Die Mitglieder der Gruppe wurde ausgewaehlt,nicht nur durch ihre Tuechtigkeit,sondern auch ihrer verschiedener Herkuenfte um eine autentische Auffuerung zu erstalten.
Es wird angeboten,wie erwuenscht von den Organizatoren:PIZZICA,PIZZICA von nord und sued Ampulien. Auch wird angeboten vom Seminar verschiedene Taenze,jeweils von verschiedene Herkuenfte!
