On Friday, November 8, 2024, at 8:30 PM, at the Gervasio Auditorium in Matera, the concert "The Masters of the 1700s" will be presented as part of the Musical Autumn series by the Camerata delle Arti.
The protagonist is the young cellist Clemente Zingariello, accompanied by the Talos String Quintet and Alessio Arbore on the harpsichord.
Despite his very young age, Clemente Zingariello is rapidly climbing the ranks of the concert performance career, thanks to an innate musical sense and an exquisite technique that allows him to range from more virtuoso pieces to those with a more pronounced interpretative vocation. During the summer of 2016, he was part of the group "I Giovincellos" and the "100 Cellos" directed by Maestro Giovanni Sollima at the "Ravenna Festival." He has won numerous international competitions, including the first prize "Maura Giorgetti" 2022 organized and awarded by the Filarmonica della Scala Orchestra in Milan and the 17th edition of the National Arts Award in the Cello section. He regularly performs in prestigious concert series in Italy and abroad. He is currently perfecting his cello studies with Maestro Roberto Trainini at the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory of Music in Bolzano.
On the program are Concerto No. 1 in C major for cello and orchestra by Franz Joseph Haydn, the Divertimento for strings No. 3 in F major, K 138 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Concerto No. 9 in B-flat major for cello and orchestra, G 482 by Luigi Boccherini.
The pieces in the program, composed over two decades, testify to the emergence of a revolutionary thought, both instrumentally and formally as well as philosophically. The program chosen for this concert allows us to explore a fascinating period in the history of music, where the rationality of the Enlightenment and the fire of early Romanticism fueled a musical discourse in full transformation.
The concert season of the Camerata delle Arti – Basilicata Works in Act is supported by the MIC – Ministry of Culture, the Basilicata Region, and the Municipality of Matera, with the support of local economic entities: Pascarelli and Silvano – Generali Agency Matera, BMW Dealer – Ultramotor Matera.
