"Beauty and the Beast" is one of the most famous fairy tales, spread in Europe in multiple versions. The first published version was that of Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and it is from this tale that our theatrical representation is born. A young prince, rich and greedy, lives locked in his castle surrounded by luxury, parties, and noble aristocrats. During one of his many parties, an old beggar woman seeking help arrived, but the horrified prince rejected her from the castle three times. So the old woman turned into a charming fairy and cast a terrible curse on the prince: until he learned to love and be loved, he would remain forever a hideous beast. The prince lost his noble appearance and assumed the appearance of a monster covered in hair, with large legs and horrible horns. The only hope of returning to being human was enclosed in a red rose: if even the last petal fell, he would remain a beast forever.
The castle fell into despair, all its inhabitants suffered terrible curses, transformed into animated objects. Until one day an old merchant, Maurice, the father of our protagonist Belle, arrived near the castle. What was Maurice doing in those parts? And what happened to the poor old man after meeting the Beast?
And so our journey begins, a fantastic journey among bizarre characters, friendships, and loves. An exciting journey that teaches what the secret of love is, that true beauty lies in the heart.
To accompany the audience on this journey, in addition to a cast of professional actors and dancers, there will also be a live band that will play the beautiful unpublished music of composer Antonio Cicognara. All enriched with live songs, choreography, and magical atmospheres.
