The Christmas Songs

On Monday, February 24, 2025, a CD dedicated to the late violinist Antimo Di Geronimo will be presented at the Potenza Library Center. Antimo Di Geronimo was one of the most active and important musicians in the city of Potenza, with a long-standing presence. His style of playing was tied to his own idea of sound, which became music without compromise. The CD proposed by our association is the result of a concert held on December 23, 2016, at the Church of San Michele Arcangelo as part of the Christmas concerts organized by the same institution. Accompanying him on the organ was Marco Ranaldi. The program focused on various English carols and more. Now, that recording has been mastered by Giovanni Salvatore and turned into a CD meant to commemorate Antimo Di Geronimo. At the presentation conference, following the greetings from the director of the Library Center, Luigi Catalani, double bassist Alessandro Mariani and pianist Maria Sarli will speak. Marco Ranaldi, a witness to that concert, will also participate. Annafrancesca Mattera will perform two pieces that Di Geronimo loved to play with the Swingle Singers. This CD is part of a project by the Francesco Stabile Musical Association to recover material from many years of activity. The series will be called Stabile Archive and aims to recover some important concerts performed by the Francesco Stabile Musical Association, among other things. So the appointment is set for Monday, February 24, 2025, at 4:30 PM at the Potenza Library Center.
