Happening Bernalda 2025: E tu che cosa cerchi? Sei giorni di incontri, amicizia e scoperte nel cuore dell’estate lucana

In Bernalda from August 9 to 14, the Happening with the theme “And you, what are you looking for?”

The 2025 Happening will open tomorrow evening in Bernalda, in Piazza Plebiscito: from August 9 to 14, meetings, workshops, and games for young people and very young people. The initiative is promoted by the community of Communion and Liberation together with the Parish of San Bernardino da Siena.

A space for young people and very young people, but open to participants of all ages, will take place in Bernalda (MT) in Piazza Plebiscito from August 9 to 14, 2025, on the occasion of the traditional Happening proposed by the local community of Communion and Liberation in collaboration with the Parish of San Bernardino da Siena.

Since the 1990s, the Happening has enlivened the Bernalda summer with cultural, recreational, and educational proposals, during a time of the year when the Lucanian town is enriched by the presence of tourists and those fond of local places and traditions.

The theme chosen for the 2025 edition – “And you, what are you looking for?” – is an invitation to get involved starting from the fundamental questions of existence.

During the days of the event, the Happening will offer various activities, from 9:00 in the morning, with the opening of the bar stand and breakfast, until 11:45 p.m.: painting and patchwork workshops, construction of “carrettoni” – a game from Bernalda’s tradition –, a water soccer tournament, and stands with books for all age groups.

Every evening at 8:30 p.m., there will be meetings with teachers who will guide the discovery of works such as The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and What Hell Is Not by Alessandro D’Avenia.

On Tuesday, August 12, the evening will be dedicated to the dramatic situation in the Gaza Strip, in light of the initiatives underway in civil society to end the conflict and the recent statements by Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

On Wednesday, August 13, there will be dialogues and testimonies to recount the experience of Gioventù Studentesca (GS), the youth movement of Communion and Liberation.

Admission and participation in all scheduled initiatives are free.
