10 anni di Soul Express con Moodymann: A System of Attitude

On Sunday, April 12, all spaces of Umoya (Mediterranean Ecopark, via Mezzagni, Castel Volturno), from 12 PM to 1:30 AM, will be dedicated to “Soul Express 10 years,” celebrating the first 10 years of activity of Soul Express Collective with “A system of attitude.” This event is designed to go beyond the traditional party format and offer a layered cultural experience with live bands, DJ sets, a play area, an interactive installation, a food area, and a boutique.

The entire day will be reserved for the Neapolitan artistic collective that was born with the aim of exploring new forms of expression through music. “Soul Express 10 years” not only celebrates music but also the cultural, artistic, and community networks that have taken shape around the musical collective over the past decade.

“A system of attitude” will feature three itinerant musical stages representing three identity formats of the collective:

- SELECTA (from 12 PM to 7 PM) with a live band performance by Bassolino, followed by DJ sets from the Soul Express residents Giuseppe Fava, Vincenzo Curcio, Karlove, and Mugman;
- CLUB (from 6 PM to 11 PM) opened by resident Obbi, followed by guest Moodymann, returning to Naples after 9 years;
- DISCO BBQ (from 10:30 PM to 1:30 AM) with resident 1morepizzapl and the closing set by THANKSMATE, founders and residents.

In addition to music, until evening: a play area designed for adults and children with educators Salvatore Mele and Massimiliano Balestra, a boutique area promoted by SOUTH MARKET, and the interactive installation “Living Archive,” dedicated to the collective and participatory memory of the “Soul Express 10 Years” project with Elisabetta Giordano.

Completing the celebrations, the food area will feature Mimì alla Ferrovia, Salumeria Malinconico, BOP, Dialetti, and wine pairing with Canestrini. The location, Umoya, is a natural setting between a lake and fields: here nature is not just a backdrop but an integral part of the experience.

Soul Express
The Soul Express Collective was established in 2015 as a cultural, musical, and social aggregation platform, aiming to transform the youth scene into a living area of research and continuous experimentation. The goal is to create centers for youth experimentation capable of embracing different creative, artistic, and social dynamics, all connected by a common thread: to enhance the identity of the territory and give it a contemporary voice.

In the cultural circuits proposed by S-ex, the city's historical and symbolic places become activators: spaces that do not merely preserve memory but reinterpret themselves and open up to the community as living laboratories. Youth energy — abundant, curious, and irreverent when necessary — engages in dialogue with institutional dimensions, strengthening a new awareness of cultural heritage. Not a passive consumption, but a dynamic and participatory experience that can restore meaning, centrality, and new vitality to places of knowledge.

In this vision, events are not finished products but engines of relationships, incubators of new knowledge and new professional skills, tools to build a more attentive, inclusive, and informed community. Culture thus becomes a process that is lived, listened to, and constructed together — even with a pinch of healthy creative madness, because without that, nothing truly new ever comes into being.
