The current events and their dramas are the common thread chosen by the founders of the Flegreo space, Pietro Tammaro and Mauro Palumbo: racism, war, social alienation, climate crisis. Pure, chaste, unclean, sinful, holy, women in the Bible have always been a naked body on which men's fingers have inscribed eternal adjectives. An 'adjectival' condemnation that locks them in conceptual cages that leave no other possibility than being – and feeling – 'holy' or 'harlots'. Two sides of the same coin, two faces of the same round stone, suitable for stoning. By Maria Porzio, curated by the theater group Hirondelle.
A radio, two speakers and a direct line with listeners. This is the setting for a Women's Day dedicated to the 'female issue'. "La voce a te dovuta", inspired by the homonymous title of a famous poetic collection by Pedro Salinas, is an act of love, an antidote to any form of discrimination, of two sisters who question themselves and the listeners about today's society that still wants women, if not blatantly prisoners, certainly sedated. Francesca Fedeli, the first winner in 2021 of the National Prize "Serra-Campi Flegrei" author of "Una voce umana" investigates personal identity in the technological era that shortens distances and serializes what is most intimate and unique to us: our voice. Communication tool and meeting point between animality and humanity, it is the absolute symbol of Creation with which we have developed a very close relationship: in a few seconds we can record and listen to ourselves, but how does this technical reproducibility enter the 'self-perception'? Dramaturgy assistant, Giovanni Marco Ferone. From April 4 to 6.
With "Happy Sad Birthday", Gianluca d'Agostino, directed by Rossella Amato, launches a fierce criticism of the alienation of relationships emptied of meaning and truth that consume themselves on social media. But he will receive a strange gift package from an anonymous sender. From April 11 to 13.
The season closes, from May 9 to 11, with "Rainbow" an authentic testimony of war. A project by Francesco Rivieccio already a finalist, with the text in the form of a short monologue, of the 2023 edition of the National Prize "Serra-Campi Flegrei". The show tells the true story of the grandfather who at 17 was taken from the soccer field of his city to be recruited, between 1940 and 1945, as a sailor on the Italian submarine 'Enrico Toti', which took part in a submarine battle in the Ionian Sea with the English 'Rainbow', miraculously emerging victorious.
