Ferrara Sotto Le Stelle 2025 presents Offlaga Disco Pax
Saturday, June 14, 2025 - Courtyard of Castello Estense (FE)
**Offlaga Disco Pax** is a neosensibilist collective formed in the odd year of 2003, consisting of Enrico Fontanelli (bass, electrotechnics, graphic premeditations, weak thought), Daniele Carretti (guitars, bass, piano, and five-year mortgage), and Max Collini (voice, lyrics, low-intensity ideology). Despite an urban legend placing them in nearby Cavriago, ODP are actually all from Reggio Emilia. The trio is immediately characterized by sounds that combine analog electronics with bass and guitars, accompanied by Italian texts recited rather than sung classically. These are often autobiographical narratives with an identity theme, both territorial and ideological.
After winning the 2004 edition of the Rock Contest in Florence, in March 2005, they released their proud debut communication: Socialismo Tascabile (Prove Tecniche di Trasmissione), released by Santeria/Audioglobe. The resulting tour was endless (158 shows in twenty months), selling approximately twenty thousand (!) copies to date, and earning many recognitions and awards: best independent group at MEI 2005, Piero Ciampi Award for the best debut album of 2005, and the "Fuori dal Mucchio" Award also for best debut in 2005. The video for "Robespierre" won the Fandango award for best Independent Video and Italian Video Award as best video of 2005, and for MTV Italy, they were "Best New Act 2005."
Offlaga Disco Pax released their second album, "Bachelite", in February 2008 again with Santeria - Audioglobe. Bachelite was also printed on double LP vinyl curated by Unhip records, accompanied by over 40,000 (forty thousand) attendees at around a hundred concerts on the tour, which concluded in November 2009 after taking ODP everywhere, from small clubs to large arenas, including Italy Wave 2009 where at the stadium in Livorno, they opened the only Italian date of Kraftwerk and Aphex Twin.
In 2010, a special series of concerts, the “Prototipo Tour”, took place where they revisited their repertoire, rearranging their songs using only some primordial Casio keyboards. The tour was accompanied by the release of the “Prototipo Ep,” a self-produced CD available only in limited edition at concerts, featuring six songs from the first two albums re-recorded in this surprising version. The “Prototipo Ep” will be printed on vinyl for the first time in 2025 and will accompany the tour dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of Socialismo Tascabile.
On March 6, 2012, they released their third album, “Gioco di Società,” distributed by Venus and, once the historic Milanese label disappeared, again by Audioglobe. The album was followed by a presentation tour in major Italian clubs, which also took the group outside Italy, for a concert in São Paulo, Brazil, held in July 2012, with over seventy dates, ending in September 2013.
Offlaga Disco Pax finally disbanded in the spring of 2014 following the untimely death of Enrico Fontanelli, on April 4 of that year.
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the release of their first album "Socialismo Tascabile (Prove Tecniche di Trasmissione)", Max Collini and Daniele Carretti decided to reform the group for a tour. They will be joined on stage by Mattia Ferrarini, a multi-instrumentalist from Reggio Emilia who has gained various experiences with some of the most significant music groups from their city and was chosen for his artistic sensitivity, very akin to that of ODP. The tour will kick off on March 7, 2025, the day of the album's twentieth anniversary, curated by Antenna Music Factory.
