Maison laviniaturra presenta la mostra FORME DI ADATTAMENTO Dal mondo vegetale a quello antropico di Gloria Campriani, acura di Maurizio Vanni
Art & photography
Maison laviniaturra is pleased to announce the resumption of the exhibition season with an unmissable event, continuing the mission of promoting female artists through a series of exhibitions that skillfully blend visual art and high fashion. In collaboration with Mosaika Association, from September 19 to November 17, 2024, the renowned fashion salon atelier founded by fashion designer Lavinia Turra will host the new exhibition by artist Gloria Campriani entitled "ADAPTATION FORMS. From the plant world to the anthropic one", curated by Maurizio Vanni.
The exhibition represents an extraordinary opportunity for visitors who want to immerse themselves in a creative dialogue between art, fashion, and eco-sustainability, where nature takes center stage. In fact, Gloria Campriani's work starts from the observation of various environmental and natural phenomena — from climate change to its direct consequences on the flora and fauna of the planet — in order to explore the forms of adaptation that nature develops in response to transformative challenges.
Between the garden, the porch, and part of the entrance hall of the atelier, a site-specific installation project will come to life where 7 works structured with recycled, reprocessed, re-knotted, reused, and modified materials will be exhibited for the final transformation, through an artistic process that expresses a strong affinity with the world of sustainable elegance. The works, characterized by bright colors and bold contrasts, offer a reflection on the incredible resilience of nature, emphasizing how life, in all its forms, possesses the extraordinary ability to adapt to ongoing climate changes. Curator Maurizio Vanni explains: "Gloria Campriani considers the arts as a precious tool for knowledge and self-knowledge, even more than a communicative opportunity, and perhaps for this reason she has always been attracted to issues related to ecology, environmental sustainability, and, consequently, social networks conducive to the understanding of human relationships. After becoming aware of the issues related to climatic transition and the need, in animal and plant worlds, to adopt models of resilience to protect and perpetuate the species, Campriani has tried to imagine a world where transformation can become an anchor of salvation. Improbable forms result, wonderfully unreal colors, metamorphic installations (change is happening) and performances that seem to allude to an eternal ephemeral scenario in which living corresponds to a continuous temporary search for stability. Gloria challenges us, urges us not to give up, and invites people to embrace evolutions because, ultimately, they will be the only certainty for survival, provided that humankind engages in a dialogue of infinite collaborative confrontation."
The exhibition opening will take place on Thursday, September 19 at 6:00 pm and will be divided into two well-defined moments, each complementary to the other. The first includes a verbal part conducted and disciplined by curator Maurizio Vanni, a specialist in the culture, museums, and sustainability relationship and Biomuseology, which will be enhanced by an introduction and a talk show titled "From ecological consciousness to environmental psychology. Creativity becomes sustainable" which will deep dive, at an interdisciplinary level, into the issues related to environmental awareness and ecological awareness linked both to fashion and the arts. The artist Gloria Campriani, designer Lavinia Turra, violinist Valentino Corvino, and actress Tita Ruggeri will participate. “Environmental psychology – writes Maurizio Vanni – is the discipline that studies the relationship between people and the environment, investigating individuals' emotional response to climate change and energy transition. The environmental challenge can also be overcome by starting from good habits, incorporating ecological sustainability into our lifestyle, and sharing environmental awareness with others.”
At 7:00 pm, "New Equilibriums" will follow, a live performance conceived and realized by Gloria Campriani that will emotionally and physically involve the audience in highly symbolic and evocative actions. “In the performance entitled 'New Equilibriums' – writes Gloria Campriani – I highlight the tensions, the effort, the difficulties, the anger that I encounter during my journey and that prevent me, alongside the 'tool' with which I move, from achieving a balance that seems impossible to achieve. The conflicts that arise during the journey, even of a practical nature, between the inside and outside of an 'old carcass', do not allow you to progress. I sway as if I were a boat in the middle of the sea, pushing myself from one side to the other because I do not have enough space inside. The structure of the 'sculpture', with which I move and which hosts me and simultaneously protects me, is so unstable that it prevents me from achieving the unexpected. I stagger but I do not give up.”
"ADAPTATION FORMS. From the plant world to the anthropic one" seeks to be a starting point for reflection on the link between art and nature, which, as the curator of the exhibition Maurizio Vanni says, "originates from man's desire to know the environment that surrounds him and to become aware of the most appropriate ways to share it with other people." Furthermore, Vanni expresses himself about Gloria Campriani and states: “Through her artistic proposals, Campriani manages to stimulate reflection and initiate a dialogue on the relationship between the individual and themselves, between the individual and other individuals, and between people and nature. Her colors overflow in their evocation of feelings, moods, and ever new sensations. Her forms take possession of the space and, without necessarily distorting it, tend to alter its morphological impact, opening a passage towards what we could define as the emotional dimension of the viewer. Her installations, but above all her performances, aim to create astonishment in a spectator called to experience an aesthetic experience in becoming while discovering something new that, even if never encountered, seems strangely familiar. Those of the Tuscan artist are silent revelations, never shouted and imposed, but whispered directly to those who still show love for life, surrendering to their senses.”
