Multidisciplinary review

At Centrale Preneste Teatro in Rome (Via Alberto da Giussano, 58), the review of live shows, dance, music and theater YOU. The YOUng city - THE GREAT STORIES organized by Ruotalibera and with the artistic direction of Tiziana Lucattini continues. For the upcoming weekend, three evening events are scheduled: "Please - the chicken, the war and I" by and with Giovanna Mori, "Language - from Claude Cahun" with Alessandra Cristiani and "What Happened to Rosemary?" with Fabio Ciconte.
So, it starts on Friday, October 11 at 9.00 pm with Please - the chicken, the war and I by and with Giovanna Mori, a production by Teatro Argot - Teatro di Anghiari, a show winner of the Federgat/Teatri del Sacro award. The lights are by Gianfranco Lucchino, the costume by Chiara Aversano and the musical choices by Leone Pompucci. Please is the story of the meeting between a woman and a chicken. The woman lives in a house on a wide road leading to the freeway, the chicken has escaped from the truck taking her to the chicken burger factory. That morning, the woman read a news story in the newspaper and feels lost. The chicken, on the other hand, happy to have escaped, to have saved itself, curls up on the woman's windowsill. The woman chases her away. The chicken stays there and says: Cock-a-doodle-do. And the woman understands what the chicken said: "Remember that in wartime, a chicken always comes in handy." The woman then remembers that her grandmother used to say that too. And then the chicken said what she didn't dare say. She said that we are at war. And the woman and the chicken start talking. They go out. They walk together. They meet. They encounter life and death, apocalypse and miracles. They even pray. Following the show, Giovanna Mori meets the audience to discuss the genesis of her artistic creation.
On Saturday, October 12, at 9.00 pm, on stage is Lingua_from Claude Cahun. The show is the second stage of the trilogy The body language and art of A. Mendieta, C. Cahun, S. Moon. A project and a performance by Alessandra Cristiani, with original music by Ivan Macera, additional music by Alessandro Cortini, lights by Gianni Staropoli. A PinDoc production, co-produced by Teatro Akropolis with support from Orbita Spellbound Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza, Associazione Culturale Le Decadi and with the contribution of Mic, Regione Siciliana. A special thanks to the company DEHORS/AUDELA, to the Gemma-Scuola del corpo space. Art is not an escape, but a performative and performing laboratory where the body exposes itself, stages its latencies, the intuition of other natures. What is the language that best captures or becomes a channel, passage, even just sporadic, of eloquent signs, disturbing anomalies not reducible to the ordinary? What bodily sinking can be evoked to facilitate the emergence of vital nodes, porous areas? If there was no negotiation of the act of communication, who would have the courage to announce their demons, their angels?
On Sunday, October 13, at 9.00 pm, the show What Happened to Rosemary? On the trail of biodiversity with Fabio Ciconte. Directed by Carmen Vogani, texts by Fabio Ciconte and Carmen Vogani, video editing by Emanuele Redondi, Lorenzo Avola. Produced by the Puglia Region and the DiSSPA of the University of Bari for the VII edition of the Week of Puglia's biodiversity. Rosemary was an explorer, elegant and noble. But too sensitive. She was the most exported Italian apple in the 1800s. Today she is nowhere to be found. Like 75% of edible plants and fruits that have disappeared forever from circulation. A loss of biodiversity without precedent, with disastrous effects on the environment. 'What happened to Rosemary' is the theatrical monologue by Fabio Ciconte - writer and director of Terra! -, which reveals the behind-the-scenes of the agri-food market and dismantles the hypocrisy of those who shift all the weight of the planet onto the consumer. A handful of powerful industrial groups decide the food we eat, few species and all the same, and drag "subversive" farmers to court. Ciconte brings years of research on food, the environment, and society to the stage. Starting from a provocation: can someone with an empty wallet make eco-sustainable choices? Unedited video contributions and reportages, surprising and tragicomic stories: an on-field investigation that has traveled from Southern Italy to the Svalbard Islands, the northernmost inhabited lands on the planet, where all the seeds of the world are stored. A huge heritage on which to rewrite the best of possible futures.
All events are free admission with recommended online booking at https://centraleprenesteteatro.it/calendario-eventi/ or direct entrance on the day of the show - for evening shows from 8.30 pm and for afternoon shows from 4.00 pm - subject to availability.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture - General Directorate of Shows and is the winner of the Public Notice Live Shows outside the Center - 2024 promoted by Rome Capital - Department of Cultural Activities
