In the beautiful location of **Industrie Fluviali**, actor **Paolo Pesce Nanna** presents his fourth book, "Un italiano en La Habana - un sogno resistente", accompanied by musician and radio speaker **Ludovica Valori**.
You will also find Traindeville's latest album: "Racconti Romani". A great idea for self-produced and sustainable Christmas gifts.
"Un italiano en La Habana" springs from Paolo Pesce Nanna's desire to share with his audience the emotions experienced during forty-eight wonderful days in Havana, where he was invited to participate in a theater play during the XXIV Italian Culture Week in Cuba. Talking only about this play, which was presented in several performances to great public and critical acclaim at the prestigious "Teatro América", would certainly be reductive. The book is much more than that.
It is a detailed logbook; from the discovery and love at first sight of classical ballet, which he had previously been rejected outright, the extremely tiring rehearsals in an unfamiliar language, with daily misunderstandings creating unforgettable scenes, the director's breaking of the "fourth wall" in theater - something initially shocking! - the Football World Cup experienced in a country where the national sport is baseball, the rediscovery of a youthful passion for Cuban salsa, and then concerts, trips to enchanting places, food, Covid, "Santería", and friendship with a capital F.
"Cuba es Cuba" is what you feel in the alleys of La Habana Vieja. And it is indeed so. The book is a fantastic collection of encounters with exceptional people: poets, music teachers, singers, dancers, playwrights, journalists, fruit sellers, bakers, taxi drivers, street musicians with old and patched guitars missing some strings, and cigar sellers.
Every page of "An Italian in La Habana" is a journey, a continuous discovery of places, things, and people, and its hilarious, moving, tragic and surreal narration keeps the reader mesmerized, and just like all the previous books by Paolo Pesce Nanna, as you are reading the last line, you immediately think: what's next?
**"Racconti Romani" - the new album by Traindeville**
From October 2024 on digital platforms, the new album by the "world-traveling" group was inspired by a successful performance last year at the Ottobrata Monticiana, an authentic and lively event in the heart of the historic district of the capital.
**Ludovica Valori** (voice, accordion, piano) and **Paolo Camerini** (double bass), supported by **Fabio Gammone** on guitar and harmonica, decided to record the songs they had reworked for the occasion. In this album, which is an evident tribute to the works of **Alberto Moravia**, we find a series of super classics like "Cento campane" – one of the most famous songs in the repertoire of **Lando Fiorini** – as well as original tracks like "Bolero alla Romana" composed by Valori in past years for **BandaJorona**, one of the first folk groups to revive the Roman tradition.
There are also two tributes to **Ettore Petrolini**, the legendary actor, singer, and fine declaimer from Monti, with "Fiore de gioventù," performed in the blues arrangement created in 2005 by **Ardecore** – another band leading the revival of Roman folk – and "Tanto pe' cantà". Finally, an ironic reinterpretation in a Roman style of the famous song by American singer-songwriter **Woody Guthrie** "This Land Is Your Land", transformed into "E' la mia Roma".
