Nightlife
Rome, February 14, 2025 – The Cineclub of Rome, located at Via Lidia 46, offers an original alternative to traditional Valentine's Day celebrations with an evening dedicated to film and romantic comedy. The event includes screenings, a talk with guests, and an interactive quiz on the cinematic genre of love and its contradictions.
The evening will begin at 7:30 PM with the screening of "Ma chi ti conosce?" directed by Francesco Fanuele and starring Simona Tabasco and Antonio Folletto. The film, a brilliant comedy with surreal elements, overturns romantic stereotypes through a fresh and ironic narration.
Following that, at 9:00 PM, will be the talk “The Romantic Comedy,” a discussion with directors and screenwriters from the Italian film scene. Participants will include:
• Francesco Fanuele, director of "Ma chi ti conosce?"
• Gianluca Ansanelli, screenwriter and director (Ci vorrebbe un miracolo, Ti presento un amico)
• Francesca Marino, director and screenwriter (Amore & Caos)
The discussion will be moderated by the hosts of Nostalgia Podcast, who will also lead an interactive film quiz for the audience, testing their knowledge of romantic comedies, from classics to contemporary films.
At 10:00 PM, the evening will continue with the screening of "Senza distanza," the debut work of Andrea Di Iorio, presented at the Turin Film Festival. The film narrates the experience of four strangers who agree to participate in a mysterious experiment within a structure where time seems suspended. With psychological dynamics and a narrative that challenges traditional linearity, "Senza distanza" stands out for its experimental approach and strong theatrical setup.
On this occasion, The Cineclub will also offer a special menu curated by Chef Noemi, designed to complement the cinematic experience with a selection of dishes dedicated to the evening.
The event is aimed at unconventional couples, film enthusiasts, and anyone wishing to spend a Valentine's Day that's out of the ordinary.
