The GalleriaStudioCiCo is pleased to present
SINFONIA CROMATICA, the solo exhibition of the artist Federica Virgili, which will be inaugurated on Sunday, April 6th at 12:00 PM at the gallery's location at via Gallese 8, in Rome.
The event will be introduced by the art critic Prof. Piero
Zanetov, while the exhibition is curated by the painter and gallerist Cinzia
Cotellessa.
Federica Virgili, a self-taught artist and refined interpreter of contemporary abstractionism, lives and works in Rome. She graduated in law and has a humanistic background, having embarked on her painting journey from a young age, eventually entering the exhibition world thanks to the attention of critics and curators.
She has numerous exhibitions behind her both in Italy and abroad.
In this new solo exhibition, the artist presents a selection of works created up to 2025, in a chromatic journey that narrates her transition from pointillism to a material and emotional abstractionism, a distinctive mark of her poetics.
The title
SINFONIA CROMATICA evokes the rhythm of the universe, which Virgili transforms into textures, shapes, and colors, becoming instruments to convey
the power of emotion and the deep connection between the human being and the universe. Music, a constant presence during the creation of the works, amplifies the bond between sound and pictorial gesture, distinguishing and representing her better, both from a human and artistic perspective.
The expressive, vital, free, and rebellious force of her painting is manifested in an impulsive pictorial gesture that responds to the urge to express an overwhelming emotion, which leaves no time to meditate, to adhere to the rules of painting, to conformism, but to a painting that always leads to unknown and innovative paths.
Alongside abstract painted canvases, there are also three-dimensional material works, made with materials such as bitumen, stucco, sand, and cement, to offer a complete sensory experience, made not only of vision but also of tactility.
An additional distinctive element of Virgili's work is the possibility to enjoy some works in a "palindromic" way, leaving the viewer
the freedom to choose the orientation of the work, promoting a personal and dynamic relationship with the art.
