The Exhibition

SottoSopra Art Studio is pleased to present "Visual Frequencies," a collective contemporary art exhibition, which will be held in Rome from September 21 to October 11, 2025, at its location on Via Ardea 10, in the heart of the San Giovanni district.

Curated by Rosanna Cerutti, the exhibition arises from the meeting of visual arts and music, exploring the possibility of translating the sound universe through canvas, paper, installations, and diverse materials. Each artwork is inspired by a musical piece or genre and will be accompanied by a QR code that allows visitors to listen to the sound reference directly at the exhibit (it is recommended to use earphones for a better experience).

Thus, the exhibit path aims to be a multisensory experience, where image and sound dialogue to bring new artistic perceptions to life.

Vernissage and Performance

The inauguration will be held on Sunday, September 21, at 6:00 pm. At 8:00 pm, the performance "Visual Frequencies," conceived and curated by Rosanna Cerutti with the collaboration of Giuseppe Bellini, choreography by Franco Corsi, and performances by Michela Galdi and Paloma Dionisi, will follow.

Finissage

The exhibition will conclude on Saturday, October 11, with a guitar workshop led by Benedetta Ricciardi at 5:00 pm, followed by a concert by the students of the "Giuseppe Torelli" Music School, conducted by Maestra Antonella Belati.

Exhibition Themes

The artworks on display are organized into different creative themes:
• Color and Melody – evoking musical emotions through color
• Rhythm and Material – translating rhythm into textures and materials
• Musical Spaces – visual landscapes inspired by performances or sound environments
• Sound Emotions – giving visual form to the feelings conveyed by music
• Visual Soundscapes – installations that blend visual and sound perceptions

One of the artworks has been selected as the official image of the poster, becoming the visual symbol of the project.

"Visual Frequencies" can be visited until October 11, 2025, at SottoSopra Art Studio, Via Ardea 10 – Rome (San Giovanni district). Free entry.
