A laboratory-concert introduces the magic of the Tunisian darbuka and other percussion instruments from the Maghreb. A Middle Eastern Music seminar conducted by Salvatore Morra and Marzouk Mejri, a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and one of the leading experts in Tunisian and Arab percussion.
From September 26 to November 30, 2025, at the Teatro del Lido in Ostia, urban plots are woven—a project conceived by Nutrimenti Terrestri, which presents eight multidisciplinary shows to inhabit urban outskirts and activate participatory citizenship dynamics. The Urban Plots project is realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture - General Directorate for Entertainment and is the winner of the Public Announcement Rome Creative 365. Culture all year round promoted by Roma Capitale - Department of Culture in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura.
Urban Plots propose Middle Eastern music with darbukas, theater between drama and variety with "Da fuori tutto bene" by and with Giulia Vanni, and children's theater with "Aligaspu the Seagull" by Viviana Raciti. There will be a tribute to Quincy Jones, the American trumpeter, composer, and activist who marked the history of music, curated by Pino Cangialosi and the Orchestra of the Teatro del Lido. On November 1, 2025, on the 50th anniversary of Pier Paolo Pasolini's death, "PPP amore e lotta," a theatrical show by Katia Colica, will be presented—a journey into Pasolini's memory, set in the night between November 1 and 2, 1975. Between music and theater, "Pasquasia" evokes the history of the central Sicilian mines, a place transformed into a landfill, exploiting both material and immaterial resources. The program also offers an immersion into the intimate world of Elena Ferrante, inspired by articles of the renowned writer, in "Invenzioni," a show directed and adapted by Andrea Giannoni and interpreted by Viola Graziosi. The project closes with a double performance of "Bailora in a Room," a show conceived and directed by Chiara Frigo with dramaturgy by Riccardo de Torrebruna, performed by Giorgia Celli. A performance that, through the female gaze, turns the body into a territory of resistance and memory.
In an era where the world faces global challenges, social inequalities, and loss of cultural identity, culture cannot remain on the sidelines but must become part of the solution. Live performance is a universal language that can touch consciences, a powerful tool because it not only entertains but also educates, denounces, unites, and inspires. The stage thus becomes a place of freedom and civil confrontation, a training ground for citizenship, where democracy is experimented through words, sound, movement, in line with the points of the 2030 Agenda.
In the territory of the Tenth Municipality of Rome, Nutrimenti Terrestri has collaborated for years and consistently with the Teatro del Lido di Ostia, which has been identified as the ideal place for the project realization. The Teatro del Lido, indeed, can offer adequate spaces to develop all planned activities.
