Mixer mostra collettiva d'arte contemporanea
Art & photography
Fifteen artists, different languages, and one shared underlying idea: to make diversity a space for dialogue, cross-pollination, and creative freedom. From September 14 to 28, 2026, Galleria Studio CiCo, at Via Gallese 8 in Rome, will present MIXER – International Group Exhibition of Contemporary Art, curated by Cinzia Cotellessa and Elena Pietrangeli.
The opening will take place on Monday, September 14, at 6:00 p.m. The launch of the exhibition will be accompanied by a performance by actress Chiara Pavoni, incorporated into the evening’s program as an additional expressive language in dialogue with the works on display. The critical presentation will be given by Professor Piero Zanetov.
Following the experience of *Pot Pourri*, which opened in June 2025, Studio CiCo is once again bringing together different sensibilities and artistic paths in a project that places freedom of expression at the heart of contemporary art.
Fifteen Artists and Boundless Languages
The artists featured in MIXER are Ugo Angelini, Franco Bacci, Sylvianne Blum Cassereau, Ercole Bolognesi, Miriam Brancia, Simona Capuano, Mirco Ciccola, Giuseppe Coli, Gianfranco del Bove, Fabrizio Farina, Paolo Ferroni, Hganga, Kakuscigemu, Bruna Manzini, Barbara Maresti, Olimpio Monticelli, Ligia Paez, Antonio Pascucci, Elena Pietrangeli, and Donatella Ricci Piccirilli.
The exhibition stems from the desire not to confine the works to a single theme or predetermined language. Painting, sculpture, photography, graphic art, installations, and experimental techniques coexist within the same exhibition, creating a dialogue between autonomous artistic visions and different ways of interpreting the present.
Cinzia Cotellessa, curator and gallerist at Studio CiCo, states:
“With MIXER, we wanted to create a space in which different languages, techniques, and sensibilities could meet without being reduced to a single interpretation. The strength of the exhibition lies precisely in the plurality of its artists and in the dialogue that emerges between works that are very different from one another, because we believe that contemporary art must above all be about freedom, exchange, and the ability to surprise.”
MIXER thus aims to transform heterogeneity into a structural element of the exhibition: not a succession of isolated works, but a collection of artistic identities that meet, engage in dialogue, and mutually transform one another within the exhibition space.
The Group Exhibition as a Metaphor for the Present
The title itself evokes the idea of mixing. The group exhibition becomes a metaphor for a contemporary world made up of different experiences, cultures, identities, and points of view, in which the possibility of dialogue takes on central importance.
The project therefore presents art as a place where rigid classifications and preconceived categories can be overcome. The plurality of languages is not reduced to a synthesis, but preserved as a source of strength, capable of offering viewers different ways of interpreting contemporary reality.
More than a simple exhibition, MIXER aims to be a statement of confidence in artistic research, creative freedom, and art’s ability to build relationships and open up new possibilities for interpretation.
The Opening on September 14
The exhibition will open on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Galleria Studio CiCo. During the evening, in addition to the critical presentation by Professor Piero Zanetov, the public will be able to attend a performance by actress Chiara Pavoni, conceived in relation to the multidisciplinary nature of the group exhibition.
MIXER will remain open to visitors until Monday, September 28, 2026.
