IL TRASLOCO

THE MOVE premieres in Rome
Laboratori Permanenti’s new production
at Teatro Tor Bella Monaca on October 14, 15 and 16

On Wednesday, October 14, **THE MOVE**, a Laboratori Permanenti production, premieres at Teatro Tor Bella Monaca in Rome. The production stars Caterina Casini, who wrote the text in collaboration with Giovanna Ciorciolini, and is directed by Giovanna Mori. The show will also be performed on Thursday, October 15, and Friday, October 16, at 9:00 p.m.

The premiere marks a new stage in Laboratori Permanenti’s work, which combines the resumption of activities in Tuscany’s Valtiberina area with a program of performances bringing the association’s work to stages across Italy.

At the heart of **THE MOVE** is a woman who, after spending forty years in the same home, suddenly finds herself forced to leave it. Everything must be done quickly: packing boxes, deciding what to keep and what to leave behind. Every object holds a story; every memory opens a window onto the past, bringing back faces, everyday episodes, and fragments of an entire generation, set against the transformations of the present.

And so, as the house is emptied, certainties begin to waver as well: points of reference change, perspectives are overturned, and what once seemed familiar suddenly becomes strange. Amid disorientation, absurdity, and unexpected events, the story unfolds at a lively pace, alternating between comedy and moments of emotion.

With irony and lightness, Caterina Casini transforms a concrete and often unsettling event into an opportunity for everyone to retrace their own story, reflect on the value of possessions, and come to terms with the passage of time. Moving between everyday details and surreal situations, **The Move** explores the difficulty of parting with what has accompanied us throughout our lives, as well as the possibility of discovering, precisely through change, a renewed momentum toward the future.

Because moving house is never merely a matter of boxes and furniture to be transported: it is a transition involving identity, relationships, and memory. And simply hearing the word is enough for each of us to have a story to tell.

A delicate and entertaining production, capable of speaking to everyone through a shared experience, transforming a move into a collective, ironic, and moving story.
