Esecuzione dei Quartetti per archi di Schostakovic da parte del Quartetto Guadagnini.
Classical music
Here is the translation of the Italian text into English:
Performance of Schostakovich's String Quartets by the Guadagnini Quartet.
Sixteen concerts by Roma Sinfonietta at the University of Rome 'Tor Vergata' in the 2024-2025 season featuring chamber music, symphonic, jazz, gospel, and opera. This year too, the Roma Sinfonietta Association is conducting its concert season at the University of Rome 'Tor Vergata'. The program, prepared by artistic director Luigi Lanzillotta, ranges from symphonic to electronic music, from chamber to choral music, and to traditional songs from Italian regions. There are seventeen events, all held on Wednesdays (except for the concert on Thursday, April 10) at 6:00 PM in the 'Ennio Morricone' Auditorium located in the Macroarea of Humanities and Philosophy of the second state university in Rome, at via Columbia 1. It is one of the most important concert seasons in the capital due to the number of concerts, the interest of the programs, and the quality of the performers, all of whom are Italian—this has always been a peculiarity of these concerts—and selected among the best from which our country abounds, so much so that there is no need to resort to foreign musicians. Another special merit of this season is bringing live music to the east area of Rome, which is almost entirely deprived of it. But these concerts attract music enthusiasts from all over Rome and a part of the audience also comes from outside Rome, particularly from the Castelli area, which is not far from the concert venue.
The inaugural concert on October 23 will see the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra engaged in music by Mozart, together with violinist and conductor Giuliano Carmignola, one of the most accredited interpreters of 18th-century music, from Vivaldi to Bach and Mozart, so much so that Claudio Abbado chose him as a soloist in his recording of all Mozart's Violin Concertos. For this rare and precious Roman concert, he has chosen two Violin Concertos and a Symphony by Mozart. With the second concert of the season, the complete performance of Schostakovich's String Quartets resumes, which began last year and was entrusted to one of the best Italian chamber groups, the Guadagnini Quartet: this season will feature two appointments (November 6 and March 5) with what is considered the most important cycle of Quartets of the twentieth century. However, the most important cycle of Quartets in the entire history of music is Beethoven’s, which strings together seventeen sublime masterpieces: a three-year concert series is dedicated to him, and this year two sessions (April 9 and 10) will be heard, entrusted to the Scala String Quartet.
Thus, a season full of stimulating and varied proposals, alternating classical concerts and other musical genres, but always music of great value with performers of the highest level, which every enthusiast will surely appreciate.
