Echi del 900 Shostakovich - Masagni

On March 29, 2025, in Rome, in the prestigious and central Aula Magna of the Waldensian Faculty of Theology, located at Via Pietro Cossa 40 (Piazza Cavour), at 7:00 PM, a special event will take place where we will celebrate two great composers: Dmitrij Shostakovich, on the fiftieth anniversary of his passing, and Pietro Mascagni, on the eightieth anniversary of his death.
Shostakovich, a master of 20th-century music, was an icon of artistic resistance and creativity during a time of great political turmoil. His works, full of emotion and complexity, reflect the challenges of his era and continue to resonate deeply with today's audiences.
On the other hand, Mascagni is celebrated for his extraordinary ability to evoke intense emotions through his music, particularly with the famous opera "Cavalleria Rusticana." His contribution to Italian opera is immense, and his legacy still lives in the hearts of music lovers.
This evening is not only a tribute but also an opportunity to relive the emotions and passions of both composers. We invite you to let yourself be carried away by the music and to celebrate the greatness of these two fundamental figures in the world of music with us.
The event will feature performances by soprano Irina Iakobtchouk, violinist Svetlana Solodka, and pianist Marina Ciubotaru.
