Tommaso Panichi - Come stai?

From 21 October to 7 November 2026, Art Sharing Roma presents *How Are You?*, a solo exhibition by Tommaso Panichi, on the occasion of the eleventh edition of Rome Art Week 2026.

Tommaso Panichi (Milan, 1997) lives and works in Versilia. He trained at the “Stagio Stagi” Art Institute in Pietrasanta and, since 2021, has exhibited his paintings in exhibitions and unconventional art projects. His practice stems from the reworking of lived experiences, places, and personal memories, transformed into an abstract language based on mark, color, and gesture.

The title of the exhibition takes its inspiration from a question the artist often asks the people he meets: “How are you?” A simple question that invites us to reflect on the way we look at others and, in particular, on the risk of viewing the work of a neurodivergent artist through stereotypes, expectations, or paternalistic attitudes.

Tommaso Panichi defines himself first and foremost as an artist. His works do not call for an interpretation centered on neurodivergence, but rather for a direct engagement with painting. Color becomes an emotional language through which people, places, memories, and states of mind take shape, while water plays a fundamental role in the creative process, allowing the pigment to spread, build up in layers, and transform over time.

Behind the immediacy of the gesture lies a precise structure. Each work begins with the choice of format, support, and chromatic ground; subsequently, the artist’s name enters the work until it is transformed into image, rhythm, and mark. Among the recurring elements is the number five, a reminder of the years he spent at the Stagio Stagi Art High School in Pietrasanta, where each panel was identified by the student’s first name, surname, and class.

The spontaneity that characterizes his language is not the result of instinct alone, but of a training process developed over time. From his first experiences with art therapy during childhood, through his artistic studies in Pietrasanta and his attendance in several disciplines at the Academy of Fine Arts, painting has represented for Panichi an ongoing space for research, study, and growth.

The exhibition presents a selection of ten large canvases from the artist’s most recent production, accompanied by *Stellar Volutes*, a series of small-format works created in the summer of 2026 specifically for this occasion. Entirely new, the series documents the most recent developments in his investigation of mark, rhythm, and the transformation of personal experience into image.

*How Are You?* thus offers an encounter with the work of an artist who uses painting as his principal tool of expression and connection, inviting the public to question not so much his difference as their own way of looking.

**TOMMASO PANICHI** (Milan, 1997) lives and works in Versilia. He trained at the “Stagio Stagi” Art Institute in Pietrasanta and, since 2021, has presented his work in numerous exhibitions and unconventional art projects. His work stems from the reworking of lived experiences, places, and personal impressions, transformed into an abstract language of immediate expressive power. Mark, color, and gesture construct a free and poetic imaginary, in which observation of reality and emotional experience find an original synthesis.
