A SHOW THAT EVOKES SOME OF THE GREATEST FOOTBALLERS IN THE HISTORY OF WORLD FOOTBALL

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2025

The engaging and emotional show “EL FÙTBOL” arrives at the Govi Theatre in Genoa on Friday, December 5, after touring various cities and achieving great success.
The show, written by Gianvito Pulzone, draws on the intense performance of Ettore Bassi and the beautiful direction of Francesco Branchetti, featuring Gianvito Pulzone and Oscar Bellomo on stage alongside Ettore Bassi.
“EL FÙTBOL” is a show dedicated to football in all its aspects, celebrating the spirit of football, the spirit of a sport, and a passion that can penetrate every inch of a man’s body.
At the center of the show is a protagonist who embodies in every inch of his skin and every gram of his soul, passion, and heart for football; Ettore Bassi portrays a man with the purest passion for football and evokes some of the greatest footballers in the history of world football, men for whom playing football was like eating, breathing; men who have inspired dreams and courage in thousands of people with their generosity and bravery, and today still send shivers down the spine when recalling the 'magic' of their feats. Stories, memories of yesterday and today, evoke the world that revolves around football and serve as a sometimes painful and sometimes exhilarating metaphor for our lives and society.
An epic story full of poetry and emotion, declares director Francesco Branchetti, the direction will aim to restore to the magnificent text its ability to evoke the spirit of football, the spirit of sport, the spirit of the game itself through captivating atmospheres, colors, lights, sounds. Body, voice, blood, and soul of an actor who spends himself on stage to the last drop of sweat; a splendid performer for a truly exciting story full of passion and poetry. Scenery and music will provide a fundamental contribution to this wonderful journey, telling us about the moods and fascinating atmospheres that the world of football brings with it.
This is an important appointment where football is a metaphor for values and examples that are important to remember in this society full of conflicts and wars, where it seems impossible to oppose the law of the strongest, but there have been men who, with imagination and courage, have won and encouraged others to believe that there can be a world made of men capable of believing and dreaming: men who have become legends but were flesh and blood. The oppressed, abandoned, and discriminated men and women could shout to the world of their existence through the game of these men.
