Milan, June 2025 — From June 23 to 28, the iKonica Art Gallery in Milan will host ESSENCE, a contemporary art exhibition curated by art historian and critic Francesca Callipari, inviting the public to embark on an emotional and introspective journey through three core aspects of the human experience: nature, matter, and transcendence.
The project, which involves artists from twenty countries around the world, is a collective exploration of the possibility to capture what escapes the purely visual dimension. The works on display do not merely represent; they prompt a shift in perspective: from the outside to the inside, from the surface to meaning, from the visible to the deeply perceptible.
In this context, as curator Francesca Callipari emphasizes, "Each work echoes a thought that does not always allow itself to be captured by words but vibrates deeply, awakening dormant questions, ancestral sensations, intimate resonances. It is a silent invitation to pause, to contemplate, but also to question: who are we in the fabric of being? What is our place between earth and sky?"
The vernissage, scheduled for Tuesday, June 24 at 6:30 PM, will offer an opportunity to meet the curator and some of the participating artists, who bring diverse languages, sensitivities, and visions, yet are united by a common poetic tension. There will be 25 artists presented in a physical exhibition and 16 in a video exhibition, with works capable of stimulating reflection and contemplation, rekindling a connection with what is essential but often forgotten.
In an era where images are everywhere yet often lack depth, ESSENCE stands out with its invitation to slow down, to reactivate a mindful gaze and deeper listening.
The exhibition will be framed by the iKonica Art Gallery, a strategically located exhibition space in the heart of Milan, a short walk from Piazzale Loreto, known for its commitment to promoting contemporary art, with a particular focus on emerging artists and experimental practices. It is a dynamic and open place where the dialogue between art and the public is continuously renewed, offering cultural insights and new opportunities for visibility.
