GERMI’N’JAZZ
Live music
After the success of the first three events in the series, featuring Soundz Around, Sketches of Islands, and Org.net, GERMI’N’JAZZ returns on Tuesday, February 10, at 9:00 PM with another evening promoted by Manuel Agnelli and Paolo Fresu: on stage will be the UNIVERSAL CHORDS.
Universal Chords is a project born from the meeting between Raffaele Casarano and Ferenc Snétberger, a musical dialogue that crosses borders and cultures, entrusting music with the role of a universal language. Combining original compositions with evocations of Mediterranean sounds, the duo constructs a sound journey based on listening and interaction. Casarano's jazz elegance and contemporary influences intertwine with Snétberger's international vision, which blends jazz, flamenco, classical music, and folk traditions in a constant dialogue between past and present.
GERMI’N’JAZZ was conceived by Luca Zoccheddu's Altrove Agency and sees the collaboration between Germi LdC and INSULAE LAB, who curate the vision and programming of evenings designed to bring a unique connection between sounds, arts, and cultures to Milan. On one side, Milan, with the cultural laboratory founded by Manuel Agnelli, a place of contamination between music, literature, and arts that has established itself in recent years as a hub for experimentation and artistic innovation. On the other side, Sardinia and the Mediterranean, with the project devised by Paolo Fresu to connect musicians, languages, and cultures from the islands and Europe, creating a true "musical continent" open to plurality and generational exchange. Regarding the Sardinian project, Fresu emphasizes that "Giving it a voice outside of the insular reality and doing so in a place of experimentation and dialogue allows us to shape the vocation of openness and dialogue that must always exist in society and in music."
This inclination towards openness and dialogue has led to the development of this new series, which, as Manuel Agnelli is keen to specify, "was born with the idea of creative contamination that has always characterized us: bringing genres outside of mental barriers, opening up to dialogue with other languages and with younger generations. Thanks to the supervision of Paolo Fresu, from October to December, Germi will host three unique live jazz events with internationally renowned guests, in a context accessible even to a young audience." The events are realized in collaboration with Altrove Creative Agency in Cagliari, an incubator of ideas active in the artistic world, particularly in music and literature, which conceived the project and brought together the various elements that compose it. To participate, it is necessary to have an ACSI membership card, and the entrance fee for each evening is set at 10 euros.
Founded in Milan in 2019 by Manuel Agnelli, Germi LdC is a space that combines a stage and a bookstore to experiment with contaminations between music, literature, and the arts. Awarded in 2024 and 2025 as the Best Venue for Live Music in Italy by the MEI, it has become a benchmark for artistic innovation. Among its prominent projects are Carne Fresca, Suoni dal Futuro, a series dedicated to young musical talents with echoes on radio, records, and national stages.
Born from an idea by Paolo Fresu and promoted by the Time in Jazz Association, INSULAE LAB has engaged over 400 musicians in just four years, with productions that intertwine jazz, visual arts, electronics, and Mediterranean tradition. The project aims to create a "musical continent" open to experimentation, generational change, and collaboration between different cultures and languages.
