After successes in performances at the Gioiello Theater in Turin, the Dehon in Bologna, and many other Italian theaters, the hilarious mystery comedy, full of twists and turns, “Sherlock Holmes, Lady Margaret and the Royal Seal” by Valerio Di Piramo & Cristian Messina arrives at the Ecoteatro in Milan from March 20 to 22, 2026.
Margherita Fumero, Mario Bois, and Mauro Villata are the stars of this play skillfully directed by Cristian Messina, with music by Angelo Chionna. Alongside the main characters on stage are Cristian Messina, Anna Cuculo, Maria Occhiogrosso, and Gina Perrucci, Giorgio Serra, Sergio Catania, Valentina Gabriele, Federico Messina, Federico Sereno, and Rebecca Rosso.

The three protagonists, in a series of hilarious situations, will save the royal seal from a mysterious thief and provide the audience with plenty of laughter. This is a theatrical reinterpretation of the character by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, presented in a strongly humorous light within an engaging and unexpected story, where intuition is drowned in laughter, and what seems is not, and what is does not seem... Because this is the true strength of theater: the unexpected, the surprise, satisfying minds with one scene, and plunging them back into uncertainty with the next scene until the astonishing finale.
January 22, 1901, London. Queen Victoria dies after reigning continuously for almost 64 years. Alongside her is Lady Margaret, a famous actress and her dear friend for a long time: she will be the one to receive the Royal Seal from the hands of the Sovereign, which she must safeguard until the ascension of Edward VII, the legitimate heir to the throne.
The entire story takes place at Old Artist, a retirement home for old showbiz glories, where Lady Margaret resides alongside three other guests.
Sherlock Holmes and his right-hand man Dr. Watson are called by the director of the institution, Miss Elisabeth Barret, to watch over the Royal Seal, as its guardianship is too burdensome for Lady Margaret; however, the great investigator has lost much of his shine and often finds himself in nothing short of embarrassing situations.
Despite this, it seems that everything is going well: but they have not yet accounted for Velina, a strange journalist who shows up at Old Artist to interview Lady Margaret...
The Royal Seal will be stolen, and from this moment on a whirlwind of bewildering events will mark the course of the comedy, which will culminate in a surprising epilogue thanks to a mysterious letter that Queen Victoria had entrusted to Lady Margaret along with the seal; it will indeed be our beloved investigators who manage to solve the case, navigating through paradoxical situations and continuous twists.
