Concertino dal Balconcino *Ottobre 11

A picturesque city courtyard is filled with new and unusual sounds. On Sunday, October 11, the distinguished guests will be DADA + the robots, a futuristic band moving between dissonant guitars and digital feedback, and musicologist Francesco Spada, curator of the Museum of Ancient Musical Instruments in Lecce, who will take us on a journey through Buddhist temples and Taoist rituals with his instruments.

Also featured will be the punk-liric music of MCCS, the sounds from outer space of Hook in the Ears, the poetry of Carlo Molinaro and Lucas Perello, and the advocacy of the citizens’ committee Mamme in Piazza.

Sunday, October 11, at 6:00 p.m.

A punk writer and an opera singer form a one-of-a-kind band: MCCS Punklirico. Distorted guitar, explosive drums, walking bass, and a voice that shifts between different intentions and vocal registers. It is punk-liric music, inspired by the best-known genre of rock opera, where every song is a story and every live performance is a true spectacle.

From Turin, where they live, they make national headlines with their original challenge to the system. In 2011, they transform the courtyard of their apartment building into a small open-air theater and their home balcony into a stage. For one hour every Sunday afternoon, they create an unprecedented cultural experiment—a veritable urban-art hub called the Concertino dal Balconcino.

Over the course of fifteen years, they perform more than 700 concerts, involving over two thousand artists and 80,000 spectators.
