Since 1983, Ravello Concert Society (RCS) has produced more than 1750 events featuring in excess of 500 musicians in Ravello and on the Amalfi Coast. The music has touched the souls of thousands of listeners, and we’ve helped artists from around the world connect with each other and with an international audiences.
Today RCS is totally indipendent of public funding and its income derives only from box office takings.
RCS events take place in Ravello's most vibrant locations: The RCS Recital Hall that is located on the borderline of Villa Rufolo Park and, with its world famous domes, has been since ever the icon of Ravello and its Music Festival. The Hall was built in 1281 by Fusco noble family and later became part of the Rufolo family estate. In 1851 Villa Rufolo was bought by Sir Nevile Reid, a Scottish botanist. He restored the Villa to its antique splendour, adding rare plants to its gardens.
This season will also see enhancements to a new recital hall: the Ravello Art Center, the former Grand Caruso Wine Cellar, very close to Ravello main square, about 50 meters from the parking and 30 meters from the bus stop, is a purpose restored concert hall for chamber music, which will be integrated with an exhibition space. It will host all Sunday concerts in Spring and Autumn. Great care has been taken to ensure that the hall has superb acoustics.
At RCS you’re always welcome.
