A focus on the "universal language" that unites people in every corner of the globe, with the aim of sharing art and beauty and building more inclusive societies.
Musicians, composers, arrangers, and educators, led by Fabio Accardi, will talk to us about the essence of Jazz and its multiple forms of expression that have always been a voice for freedom, equality, peaceful collaboration, and creativity since its origins. A music of protest and celebration born in the United States as a response to oppression.
The discussion will focus on the "parents of Jazz", African Americans but also Italians who emigrated to America and played a very important role.
Fabio Accardi and his companions, after a dialogue on the topic, will introduce the concert scheduled for July 30 with Marco Armani, Fabio Accardi & the FAB5 in which well-known songs from the singer-songwriter tradition are revisited and rearranged in a Jazz key. A meeting that aims to increase awareness of the power of Jazz as an educational tool, a source of strength and empathy, understanding and cooperation among people. An internationally recognized art form that promotes peace, dialogue between cultures, diversity, and respect for human rights, to eradicate discrimination, promote gender equality, and encourage freedom of expression.
Particular attention will be given to the history of Jazz, which is also written in the pursuit of human dignity, democracy, and civil rights. It will also focus on how this musical language becomes an important example of democracy in an ensemble where respect, individual freedom, but above all responsibility towards the group shine. A teamwork that prioritizes listening to others.


------ After the success of last year, international music returns to Polignano a Mare with the second edition of the "Polignano a Mare International Jazz Festival". Four free events are scheduled in three charming locations of the Adriatic gem on July 29 and 30, August 3, and September 19, 2024. Three concerts and a round table with great artists from the Italian and international jazz scene: Marco Armani, Fabio Accardi, Yosvany Terry and, in collaboration with the association Soul Brothers, Jany McPherson.

The Polignano a Mare International Jazz Festival, organized by the Radio Incontro Association with the artistic direction of Roberta Marchese and sponsored by the Municipality of Polignano a Mare, aims not only to spread culture and music of the highest artistic level, but also to sensitize the community to beauty, allowing all citizens and tourists to enjoy the events for free and making it possible to spread the image of Polignano a Mare at a regional, national, and global level, as a promoter of highly targeted opportunities to promote cultural, artistic, and tourist growth of authentic quality.
