Thursday, August 15th: BILLIE HARD
Rock'n'roll band formed in November 2011 by Marzio Palmieri and Giacomo Ristano. The name Billie Hard recalls the rockabilly musical genre and the 50s style of artists like Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc. In fact, the show of Billie Hard brings back the spirit of the legendary 50s with the rhythm of real rock'n'roll. The band combines Marzio Blues's rocking blues guitar, Jack Ristano's warm and overwhelming vocals, Paul Meraviglia's old-style rhythm on drums, and Andrea Di Barius's hypnotic bass melodies. Billie Hard during their artistic journey have performed in numerous places in Puglia, Basilicata, Molise, Calabria, Abruzzo, and Campania, they have performed in shopping centers, clubs, and squares, they have participated in radio broadcasts and have been guests at major motorbike rallies among hundreds of Harley Davidsons and large American Cadillacs.
In December 2012, they perform in a special concert in Trani hosting on stage Salvatore Cafiero, guitarist for singers Dolcenera and Emma Marrone, along with Laura Calcagno, a violinist who appeared on the show Italia's Got Talent. In 2013, the band introduces the audience to their first self-produced track, releasing it online and on local radios. This is a remake of the 1945 song by Italian authors Nella Colombo and Gigi Beccaria, "Perduto Amor". In 2014, Billie Hard collaborate again with Salvatore Cafiero (who had in the meantime become the guitarist of Gianluca Grignani), this time with his band, Suck My Blues. In 2017, they participate in the "South Italy Blues Connection", a national convention of professional and non-professional musicians, which brings together about seventy of the most important blues groups in Italy, comparing the musical experiences and training of all participants. The following year, the "Billie Hard in Cinema" music video is released, a medley of covers that takes a journey through the rock'n roll soundtrack of the most beautiful films of all time. In December, they return to the stage with a Christmas show titled "Christmas Show", and with the release of a music video that will launch their tour in Puglia, Basilicata, Campania, Molise, and Abruzzo. On July 3rd, their new music video "Billie Hard Aloha from 50s" was released, a medley of songs rooted in vintage Latin music.
