Come i gigli nel campo:omaggio in jazz a Pasolini con il trio Liturri-Debenedetto-Angiuli

Next Friday, September 27th starting at 8:30 pm, the concert "Like lilies in the field" will be held at the Green Room of the Municipality of Corato, a concert-reading of jazz music dedicated to Pier Paolo Pasolini. The concert, organized by the AlterAzioni Association, is part of the Summer program of the Municipality of Corato "You are my city 2024", the last of the events of the Mini Festival "Sounds of the World: Style and Music in colors", proposed by the Bisceglie association for the summer of Corato 2024.

The musical project conceived by pianist and composer Vito Liturri is a musical proposal that addresses the relationship between Pier Paolo Pasolini and the theme of the sacred, or rather that "nostalgia of the sacred" on which the writer and director has often focused in his works.

The concert includes both original compositions by Vito Liturri and free reworkings of music from his films, as well as rediscovering lesser-known songs for which Pasolini was a lyricist, appropriately chosen in relation to the proposed theme. The musical performers interact with a reading voice, which offers a selection of excerpts from Pasolini's works. The protagonists of the evening are Paolo Debenedetto on saxophones and Vito Liturri on piano and author of the arrangements, with Cristina Angiuli as the reading voice. Among the readings, a selection of texts from "The Hawks and the Sparrows", dedicated to the figure of Saint Francis in the year of the Eighth Centenary of the death of the Saint of Assisi.

The concert will take place at the Green Room of the Municipality of Corato, doors open at 8:00 pm, starting at 8:30 pm. Entrance to the concert is free, seating is limited, reservation is recommended.
