Giornata Nazionale delle Famiglie al Museo al Parco di Santa Maria d'Agnano - Ostuni

On Sunday, October 13, 2024, the National Family Day at the Museum (F@Mu) returns, an event that is renewed every year by connecting Italian museums, with the aim of making culture more accessible, inclusive, and, this year, sustainable.
All editions of F@Mu days have focused on different themes, capable of stimulating the interest and curiosity of different audience groups, with particular attention to families and children. This year's theme focuses on ecology and centers the F@Mu day on an important and ambitious topic, environmental sustainability in the cultural field. The name chosen for this 2024 edition is "A Green Museum" and focuses on climate change and what good practices cultural venues can adopt to reduce their environmental impact and implement a reversal of the trend. The reason for choosing this topic is that, according to F@Mu, change can start from those children capable of finding, in a moment of fun and sharing, a new awareness of environmental issues and of becoming ambassadors of a "green world and museum."
This year, the Museum of Preclassical Civilizations of Southern Murgia in Ostuni, in collaboration with the collective of companies Ostuni Museo Diffuso, is pleased to participate in this important national initiative, dedicating an entire day to the environment and the beauty of nature.
On Sunday, October 13, in the Archaeological and Naturalistic Park of Santa Maria d'Agnano and in the Diocesan Museum of Ostuni, activities dedicated to families will be offered, during which participants will learn about the flowers and plants present in our territory and in the works of art, and the important role of bees in nature.
Accompanying the Ostuni Museo Diffuso collective on this fascinating journey will be the company Alveare Bianco, which will lead adults and children into the sweet world of bees and wax and involve participants in a fun and interesting workshop, turning them into "ceroplasts" for a day.
On Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm, the Archaeological and Naturalistic Park of Santa Maria D'Agnano will offer participants the experience of a tactile sensory guided tour, conceived to promote increasing interaction between natural assets and the visitor, which will conclude, upon reaching the cave, with the discovery of the story of the woman of Ostuni. At the end of the visit, children, with the help of their parents and the company Alveare Bianco, will create a small wax medallion that will remain a memory of the shared experience for them.
The F@Mu Day will continue in the afternoon at the Diocesan Museum where, starting from 4 pm to 7 pm, visitors will be able to learn about the plants and flowers present in the works of art and, through images and stories, focus on an extraordinary and mysterious work, the Anatomical Christ in wax. This interesting and rare artifact will be the starting point to discover the use of wax from ancient times to the present day. After the stories, everyone will be able to create, thanks to the experience of the Alveare Bianco company, small personal candles.
"The Day of Families at the Museum" is aimed at everyone, particularly families with children aged between 4 and 12 years old.
For the occasion, a reduced rate entrance will be reserved for all participants.
To ensure the optimal performance of the activities, it is recommended to book at the numbers: 347 5247152 or 347 0042961.
