October 25-26-27 | SVERGOGNAT* Queer Festival
The revolution is in the province!
It is a revolution, it is a necessity, it is a hope.
Just one year ago in the city of Andria a femicide occurred and over time there have been numerous acts of violence against homosexual or vulnerable people. In Italy, in 2024, there are 65 femicides and 149 acts of violence towards people in the Lgbtqia+ community. Today, surrogacy becomes a universal crime.
Do we need a revolution?
We need it extremely.
To expand the debate, here is the "coming out" of the first queer festival in Bat: SVERGOGNAT* Queer Festival
On October 25-26-27, at Officina San Domenico, three days of talks, performances, workshops, films, and many experiences thanks to the presence of Chiara Tagliaferri, Madonnafreeda, Giancarlo Visitili, Mica Macho, @narraction Eleonora Marocchini, Riccardo Cannone, and many others.
The festival, which takes its name from the homonymous collective active since 2021, aims to challenge stereotypes, recognize the complexity of our existence, and propose a queer perspective: overturning the paradigms that we have used until now to rethink reality, society, and politics.
PROGRAM:
FRIDAY OCTOBER 25
?
5:00 PM – Education of the teenage gay
Theatrical performance by Riccardo Cannone and Andrea Di Eva
A novel of sexual, emotional, political, and artistic formation with a commentary of electronic music and fragments of hyper-commercial songs. A boy from the province takes us by the hand into his life, from the early 60s to the late 70s, constantly questioning how his sexual orientation could have been stigmatized as guilt, sin, illness.
?
7:00 PM – Where does our protest come from
With Sergio Racanati, artist, performer, and poet, we will retrace the milestones + screening of "Mariuccia"
A dialogue to learn about the decisive battles for the rights and dignity of millions of people. From the early Pride marches in the 70s, when being visible meant challenging a hostile world, to the conquest of equal marriage.
Followed by the screening of "Mariuccia", a short film that explores the meeting between Mariuccia Secol and Sergio Racanati. A collection of intimate moments and feminist fight stories, highlighting Mariuccia's friendship with Milli Gandini and their claims as women, mothers, and artists.
?
9:00 PM – Screening of "Orlando, my Political Biography" by Paul B. Preciado
A documentary shot about a century after the publication of Virginia Woolf's Orlando, the first novel in which the protagonist changes gender in the middle of the story.
It explores a world in transformation, where change involves not only gender, but also poetry, love, and identity, in a poetic and political journey.
