Premio Danza al Piccinni

The evening will open with the awarding and performance of the groups and the soloist who will be designated winners of the "Premio DANZA AL PICCINNI" contest, which will take place on April 23rd at the Teatro Kismet. The second edition of the "Premio DANZA AL PICCINNI" is an initiative specifically conceived to promote dance schools in the metropolitan area of Bari. It is sponsored by the Department of Culture of the City of Bari and Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, with the artistic curatorship of the AltraDanza company directed by Domenico Iannone. Starting this year, it also includes collaboration with ResExtensa | Porta d’Oriente, the National Dance Production Center directed by Elisa Barucchieri.

In the second part of the evening, in a completely new initiative, outstanding performers from the contemporary dance scene, all originally from Bari and its province, will take the stage. They will be choreographed by Bari-born choreographers who are active on the national and international scene, namely: Elisa Barucchieri (artistic director of ResExtensa | Porta d’Oriente – National Dance Production Center), Carmen De Sandi (artistic director of the Collettivo Sinespazio), Simona De Tullio (artistic director of the Breathing Art Company and the International Dance Award San Nicola), Roberta Ferrara (artistic director of the Equilibrio Dinamico company and the project Equilibrio Dinamico Ensemble), Domenico Iannone (artistic director of the AltraDanza company and the Esplorare festival), and Ezio Schiavulli (artistic director of the EZ3 company, the Dance Promotion Body Associazione RI.E.S.CO., and the Network Internazionale Danza Puglia project). Among the special guests who have already confirmed their presence, there will be the welcome return of Alessio Rezza, étoile of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
