Come Gli Uccelli - Regia Marco Lorenzi

Powerful and touching, unsettling and heart-wrenching, "Tous des Oiseaux/Birds of a Kind" by Wajdi Mouawad, a Lebanese writer, director, and filmmaker, boasts numerous successful translations and productions across Europe. Since 2017, it has sparked debates and stirred audiences with the strength of its story and the magic of its writing. Marco Lorenzi and Il Mulino di Amleto, winners of the ANCT Critics' Award 2021, are preparing to bring to Italy for the first time a work with great international significance, specially translated by Monica Capuani.

The story narrates a family epic, that of the Zimmerman family: young and in love, Eitan and Wahida (she being Arab, he of Jewish descent) meet in New York in a beautifully depicted scene of love's encounter. Their relationship blossoms despite their origins and the challenges they face. However, something violent occurs that changes the course of events. In a suspended, symbolic, and powerful dimension, the timelines end up mixing, suspending, overlapping. Parents and grandparents arrive, and for everyone, it will be an opportunity to look each other in the eye and confront the pain of identity, the demon of hate, and the rigidity of ideologies.
