Returning punctually as every year and more engaging than ever, the singing contest promoted by Joy’s Pub in Bari, "UNA VOCE DA PUB," has reached its sixth edition.

Do you have a beautiful voice? Do you think you can sing and deserve a live performance all your own? A record of your own? Do you want to make your voice heard and be known for your music? Do you have talent but can’t showcase it to the public outside your bedroom walls?

If you are between 16 and 50 years old, this is the opportunity for you.

Auditions to participate in the contest will be held at Joy’s Pub in Bari, c.so Sonnino 118/d, on the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th of December 2024, from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM. Interested individuals must download the registration form available via a link here, fill it out completely, sign it, and send it via email in PDF format to unavocedapub.iscrizioni@gmail.com by 8:00 PM on November 28, 2024, and wait for the email invitation from the organization.

On the day of the audition, participants must present themselves at Joy’s Pub with 2 prepared well-known musical pieces, bringing the backing tracks of the same on any audio support (mp3, cd, etc.) or, alternatively, accompany themselves with their own musical instrument or another musician. A panel of expert professionals will assess the participants' skills and select the suitable artists to continue the contest during the competition evenings at Joy’s Pub.

The competition will begin on January 9, 2025. All contest information can be found online on the Joy’s Pub Facebook page or by calling the venue's landline.

Joy's Pub is not only the first Irish pub in Bari, but it has always been an expressive workshop, a place of experimentation. The concept of PUBlic House is experienced by friends who frequent the historic venue as a meeting point and the proposition of the most varied artistic and creative ideas. This is why the idea of self-promotion within the same space was born, to share moments of music and art with all friends who do not yet know Joy’s Pub.

Who will guide and accompany the musical journey of the artists participating in the competition? The Master Conductor will be Fabio Prota, a professional musician, who will personally oversee all the singers for the duration of the contest.

Fabio Prota is a musician whose training first took root in the classical world at the Conservatory "N. Piccinni" in Bari and then in jazz at the "Pentagramma" in Bari under the guidance of Maestro Davide Santorsola. In over twenty years of studio and live activity, he has explored the most diverse genres, from reggae to metal; he participated as an author at the Accademia di Sanremo and won contests, thanks to which some of his works were included in compilations, distributed by labels such as Sony and Universal Music, among which stands out “Hit Mania Champions.”

Fabio Prota has also worked as an arranger and composer of jingles for recording studios and local television stations such as Telenorba. In addition to boasting numerous collaborations with national artists, like Agostino Marangolo, and opening concerts for international artists such as Tuck & Patti, in recent years, he has released three solo piano albums. Among the works he authored, "My Heart Leaps Up," made with the ProTrio, was presented at the International Jazz Day and broadcast on RAI Radio 3 by Pino Saulo in his program “Battiti.” In August 2023, he was selected with The Wonders project to represent Italy at the International Beatle Week, performing live in some of the most prestigious venues worldwide, including the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool.
