How to tell stories with shadows? How many characters does our shadow "wear"? An opportunity to play with the "inseparable friend" shadow and see a show of this art that continues to evoke great fascination after millennia.

**Silvio Gioia**, master of shadows, will present at Retroscena an *excursus* of all his shows.

He engages in theater because "he likes to play" and because it offers endless creative possibilities in interpersonal relationships, without distinction of race, gender, age, or physical and mental conditions.

In 2003, he started with acting theater, training in acting and in various sectors of social theater. He worked with several companies in Puglia, including "Koreja" (Lecce) and "teatro delle forche" (TA). He continuously trains with director Carlo Formigoni, with whom he delves into children's theater and plays various roles in his productions, including Hamlet and Harlequin.

In 2008, he began playing with his own shadow, creating an "Artistic Duo Silvio/Shadow" that offers shows, workshops, and training courses at theaters, auditoriums, squares, schools, and institutions throughout the country, often in collaboration with other theater artists or musicians.

Among the various possible forms of shadow theater, he prefers using hands and body, engaging in that archetypal play of creating characters with the shadow of one's fingers, which children and adults often do in moments of fantasy and imagination.
