**PEACE AND LOVE, Mediterranean Encounters IX Edition ALIENIST EXHIBITION**
Starting on December 21, 2024, another major event is being promoted by La Casa degli Artisti in Gallipoli. It is the now-famous collective exhibition titled PEACE AND LOVE, IX Edition, which gathers some big names from the contemporary artistic and cultural scene. The artistic director of the event is the Salento artist Giorgio De Cesario, who lives and works in La Casa degli Artisti, where he has his permanent gallery and where, together with his wife Maria Cristina Maritati, he has managed to establish an artist residency that hosts cultural events of all kinds for free. Over the years, this residence has also become the driving center of Alienism, a thought movement founded and continuously nurtured by De Cesario himself. The symbol and leitmotif of this exhibition will be the "Messenger of Peace," the subject of Giorgio De Cesario's latest work, an angel dedicated to spreading peace and love in the world, as the exhibition's title wishes, given the current winds of war.
The artist created this work at the invitation of art critic Daniele Crippa, president of the Museum of the Park of Portofino and advocate of the "La Iglesia de Los Angeles" project. This project aims to populate the church dedicated to angels in Salta, Argentina, with contemporary angels, and it has also drawn the interest of Pope Francis, who is originally from the Salta area. De Cesario's work will be reproduced on a 25x25 cm tile that will decorate the church's walls.
In addition to those by Giorgio De Cesario, the exhibition also hosts the latest acquisitions by Salvatore Pepe, Rolando Zucchini, and Vittorio Rancati. Also on display are all the literary works of Amanda Gesualdi and Pasquale Cavalera and photos from around the world by Giuseppe Caridi, all dedicated supporters of La Casa degli Artisti's dissemination efforts.
Below is some information about the participating artists:
- Amanda Gesualdi, a writer and researcher with more than ten publications to her credit, is also the editorial director of the magazine "You See." She is involved in coaching, psychology, psychosoftness, with a particular focus on the holistic world and modern profiling techniques. Co-founder of the University of Coaching, she is a lecturer and trainer in Sciences and Techniques of Mental Coaching and creator of the first Bachelor’s program in Mental Coaching, both nationally and internationally.
- Pasquale Cavalera is a writer from Salento who decided to end his engineering career to successfully dedicate himself to literature, as evidenced by his latest works "Sottomessi" (a collection of poems) and the novel "La mia famiglia a San Valentino." Additionally, he is the founder of the literary agency Storie di Libri, where he currently serves as CEO and editor.
- Vittorio Rancati, an emerging artist in iron and sheet metal, has manifested a strong passion for these materials and mechanical tools since childhood, a passion that has become his daily work activity. He participates in the exhibition with the enameled iron work "Tree of Life: Breath," which represents the breath of nature and its continuous regeneration of the life around us.
- Salvatore Pepe is one of the leading figures of Italian minimalism. He has participated in various exhibitions worldwide, including the Venice Biennale, achieving great public and critical success. Many of his works are already present in La Casa degli Artisti, specifically in the Mondrian Suite, where the artist has his permanent gallery. An example of his work entitled "Front Line," which showcases impactful minimalism in both visual and emotional aspects, will be exhibited.
- Rolando Zucchini, a versatile artist from Umbria, slipped gradually from mathematics into the art world. He experiments with various supports and techniques and loves solitude and Oriental lifestyles, as demonstrated by his wanderings in China among Buddhist monks. His work on display is titled "ST tgK 37," a sudden inspiration captured on canvas, almost like an attempt to document the fleeting moment.
- Giuseppe Caridi, writer, photographer, climate activist, and communicator; traveler. He has visited over 160 countries worldwide, published two travel diaries, and exhibited his photographic shots in Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. He works as a Travel Designer, leading groups of travelers on nature and cultural itineraries specially designed by him. He is one of the founders of the scientific project www.theclimateroute.org and is president of the Association Experience Your Time APS based in Gallipoli. He was also a football referee and an Instructor of International Humanitarian Law for the International Red Cross.
The Exhibition will be enriched by several side events, like, for example, the presentation of the debut work of the poet Rita Corciulo from Gallipoli titled "Gocce d’Azzurro" (publication by Storie di Libri by Pasquale Cavalera), scheduled for January 4, 2025, at 6 p.m.
The entire event, curated by Professors Orsolina Fontò and Maria Cristina Maritati, is made possible with the collaboration of CittadinanzAttiva, Gallipoli assembly, and the La Fenice Club.
The exhibition will take place from December 21, 2024, with a vernissage at 6 p.m., to January 11, 2025. It will be open every day from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with free admission.
