BIOGRAPHY:
ACQUASUMARTE is the choice free from constraints, for rediscovering one's style, for those who love to play without labels. ACQUASUMARTE was born in Monopoli (Bari) in 2007 from Vincenzo Aversa's desire to create, through essential sounds and sophisticated melodies, a fusion of different genres and musical traditions to create songs with clear references to the history of Italian singer-songwriters.
In 2010, they recorded their first demo with 2 original tracks. In 2011, with the collaboration of Giorgio Spada, they recorded 5 original tracks and released the album "Appena in tempo" in a limited edition.
In 2012, they won the BadSide Contest and performed at the "Aritmia Mediterranea" festival in Molfetta alongside I CANI and IL TRIANGOLO. The same year, the track "Avevo quindici anni" was included in the MEID IN PUGLIA compilation, a project by MEI aimed at promoting emerging regional musical talents from our country. It was aired during the radio show DEMO L'Acchiappatalenti by Michael Pergolani and Renato Marengo on Radio1 with the goal of discovering new musical talents and became the theme of one of the episodes of SETTEPIÙ, a musical contest and television format targeted at high school students in Monopoli, broadcast on the local channel CANALE 7.
In 2012, the track "Migliore di nessuno" was included in the compilation of the finalist artists of the MEI Superstage contest dedicated to emerging bands and presented on the occasion of the MEI Supersound in Faenza. The same year, they participated in the crowdfunding campaign of the FARFA Group - Cinema Sociale Pugliese by contributing music, with the tracks "Migliore di nessuno" and "Ovunque vai", to the video-documentary "Campo Libera Tutti" by Genuino Clandestino in Puglia.
In 2013, they joined the I MAKE ACADEMY project and participated in the urban labs g.lan of Alberobello in the workshop for arrangement and pre-production in rehearsal with the Deproducers: Vittorio Cosma, Gianni Maroccolo, Riccardo Sinigallia, and Max Casacci. In 2013, still collaborating with Spada, they recorded 11 tracks, 6 of which were new, and in 2014 released the album “Torniamo presto” in a limited and hand-numbered edition.
In 2015, they were among the winners of the "Canzoni a manovella" contest and performed at the Farm Festival in Alberobello. From 2010 to today, they have participated in important festivals including: "Dirockato"; "Modena 29 settembre"; "Controfestival"; "Giovinazzo Rock"; "BucoBum"; "Aritmia Mediterranea"; “Viva Del Re!"; "Autori"; "Farm Festival"; "Cellamare Festival"; "Cinzella Festival"; "La notte della Rivolta" and opened for various artists including: BRUNORI, NOBRAINO, DIMARTINO, ROBERTA CARRIERI, VEGETABLE G.
In 2018, four years after the album "Torniamo presto," they released the album "VIVERE NON SI PUÒ," and in 2019 the album "VITA D'ARTISTA" with the support of Dischi Uappissimi: 14 new original tracks recorded, mixed, and mastered by Fabrizio “Faco” Convertini, featuring collaborations with Renzo Rubino, Carmine Tundo, Bale Bulatovic, Giorgio Spada, Sebastiano Lillo, Ronny Gigante, Luciano D'Arienzo, and Valentino Fanizza. The latest album "VITA D'ARTISTA" was released on December 7, 2019, a new studio work with a meaningful title inviting listeners to reflect on the importance and difficulties of being the artist of one's life, and thus to reflect on the "artist's life" that we all lead to some extent, to rediscover the meaning and value of life itself, because one doesn't need to be a painter or musician to live an artist's life; we all live an artist's life in our own field of activity.
In the era of singles and streaming, the new album, homogeneous in structure, arrangements, and song lyrics, re-evaluates the concept of an album itself and approaches the idea of a concept album as a coherent and unified work, forming a unitary work with the previous "VIVERE NON SI PUÒ."
For the occasion, they will perform as an acoustic duo.
