This year also marks the return of that collective festive tradition in Putignano, bringing together cheerful souls and uniting young people of all ages in an atmosphere where street conviviality becomes the star.

Not just the beautiful floats, Carnival is also an expression of a long-standing popular tradition, that simple and spontaneous one that transmits stimuli and amplifies instincts with that touch of magic close to uninhibited transgression, where anything can be allowed and admitted, and where a spirit of unconditional merriment reigns supreme.

All of this takes place in the historic center for 7 alternating days, through a myriad of entertainment activities, shows, and typical gastronomy that weave through the charming streets of the ancient city, filled with vibrant colors and refreshing scents. A bucolic journey through alleys and squares decked out for the occasion, emphasizing sustainability, characterized by decorations made using recycled materials.

The main objective remains to especially encourage the new generations to a healthy and responsible reclaiming of traditions belonging to the territory, through total immersion in the carnival excitement that will enchant the town. Carnevale N’de Jos’r aims to evoke that sort of "social amnesty" that once allowed especially women, hindered by restrictive norms, to step out from the gray domestic walls, to disguise behind a mask and unleash repressed instincts thanks to that typical essential fun atmosphere.

Young people will therefore be the absolute protagonists of the artistic entertainment offerings that, for years, have taken refuge in the historic center of Putignano to immerse themselves in a bucolic itinerary visiting the well-established 9 "iusi" positions now open-air, once located in charming ground-floor properties.

Now in its eighteenth edition, Carnevale N’de Jos’r, with its popular identity, on the evenings of February 20, 22, 23, 27, and March 1, 2, 4, presents a program rich in events, shows, and activities inspired by tradition, gastronomy, and pure fun, aptly adapted to current leisure trends.

The event, organized by the Trullando association in collaboration with the Putignano Carnival Foundation, enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Putignano and the institutional partnership of the Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata. Main Partners Dolce Bontà and Birrificio Troilo.
