*PAOLO SASSANELLI began his acting career studying at the Piccolo Teatro di Bari, his birthplace. His screen debut was in the television series Classe di ferro (1989), by Corbucci. He made his film debut with Nella Mischia (1995) by Zanasi and continued to work continuously until 2000, when he was one of the protagonists in LaCapaGira by Piva, and simultaneously on TV with the series Un medico in famiglia; in the same year, he was one of the protagonists in Falene, a show so successful that it became a feature film and continued to be staged in Italian theaters until 2016. He also acted in several other well-known series, such as Compagni di Scuola (2001) and Raccontami (2006). Since 2008 he has played inspector Gamberini in the series L'ispettore Coliandro. He ventured into directing with the short Uerra, winning Best Fiction in the Corto Cortissimo section at the 66th Venice International Film Festival. Engaged in various works ranging from politics to history to social commitment, in 2013 he starred in the film Song'e Napule, for which he received a Nastro d'Argento for best supporting actor. In 2017 he filmed his first feature-length film, Due piccoli italiani. In 2021 he returned to local settings not only on TV with L'ispettore Coliandro and Imma Tataranni - Sostituto procuratore, but also as the subject of a mural in Bari, for the short film Il Vecchio e il Muro; meanwhile, he is also in I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone and with Alessio Boni in Il metodo Fenoglio. He is currently on a theatrical tour with La signora del martedì.*
