The Great Show of Youth Sabre Returns to San Severo with the Second Round of the Grand Prix Kinder Joy of Moving Under 14

The Grand Prix Kinder Joy of Moving Sabre Under 14 returns to San Severo on April 12-13 at the Falcone e Borsellino Municipal Sports Hall.

The event, promoted by the Italian Fencing Federation and sponsored by Kinder Joy of Moving, will feature around 450 young sabre fencers from all over Italy, competing in eight male and female categories.

The Grand Prix Under 14 in San Severo was first launched in 2008 thanks to the Club Scherma San Severo. Over ten consecutive editions (2008-2018), it welcomed over 4,500 athletes, many of whom are now part of the national team. After a pause due to the pandemic, the event resumed with a Cadet competition in 2019 and a team Grand Prix in 2022. The 2023 edition marked the return of the individual competition, which has now been confirmed for 2025, reinforcing San Severo’s status as a key reference for youth sabre fencing.

Event Schedule
- Saturday, April 12 – Group stage and direct elimination rounds for the Ragazzi Bambine, Ragazze, and Maschietti categories, followed by finals and award ceremonies.
- Sunday, April 13 – Group stage and direct elimination rounds for the Allievi, Allieve, Giovanissimi, and Giovanissime categories, concluding with finals and award ceremonies.

Beyond the competitions, the event will feature fencing information booths, refreshment and hospitality areas, and meetings with coaches and families.

Matteo Starace, President of Club Scherma San Severo, stated:
“We are proud to once again host one of the most prestigious competitions in youth fencing. This event is not just about sports—it is a school of life that teaches respect and determination. We thank the Italian Fencing Federation, Kinder Joy of Moving, and local institutions for their support. It will be a memorable event for all participants and for our city.”
