ARTES [turning point] presents a contemporary art exhibition titled AVAILABLE SPACE from March 8 to April 2 in Locorotondo, set in the urban space. The association also organizes creative workshops for schools and literary meetings to promote women's empowerment.

On March 30 at 6 PM at Villa Mitolo in Locorotondo, there will be a presentation of Maria Anna Di Gioia's book “How’s the Water? Recognizing the Invisible Sea of Patriarchy Every Day,” in conversation with the author Rosamaria Pepe.

In schools, awareness programs against violence and gender discrimination are primarily held around November 25, but sexism manifests in every aspect of daily life, every day. The volume proposes a journey on these themes starting from well-known occasions: Epiphany, Valentine's Day, Father's Day, Mother's Day. It encourages reflection with young people on stereotypes, conflicts, and dynamics of power by reflecting on the cultural manipulations surrounding the most popular celebrations.

Maria Anna Di Gioia is a high school teacher and feminist activist, involved in teaching and the web, feminisms, and gender knowledge.

On April 1 at 6:30 PM, also at Villa Mitolo, there will be a presentation of Francesca Romana Recchia Luciani's book “Philosophers. Ten Women Who Reimagined the World,” in conversation with the author Melania Evangelista.

Lou Salomé, Maria Zambrano, Hanna Arendt, Simone De Beauvoir, Simone Weil, Agnès Heller, Carla Lonzi, Audre Lorde, Silvia Federici, Judith Butler: by living their philosophical lives, these thinkers reimagined the world, while philosophy found in female philosophers the main path to its liberation.

Francesca Romana Recchia Luciani is a full professor of Contemporary Philosophies and Gender Knowledge at Aldo Moro University, where she is responsible for gender policies and coordinator of the National Doctorate in Gender Studies.

During both evenings, graphic works by children participating in the creative workshops will be on display.
