The 2025 edition of the **Passion of Jesus Christ**, the 53rd, promises to be full of novelties but faithful, as always, to the evangelical texts.
Skillful direction, new set designs, new furnishings, and technical efficiency; everything has been studied and prepared to offer all present a true moment of reflection and collective prayer.
Itinerant scenes visible from every point transform anonymous corners of the town into the most fascinating place in the world.
From the "Hosannas" to "Crucify Him," from rejoicing to suffering, from life to death, from a festive Jerusalem to the bloody Calvary, the last days of the Son of Man's life are relived by the performers and the audience alike as protagonists and witnesses of the events.
The glorious Resurrection of Christ and the announcement given by the apostle Peter to all men of goodwill are the just and most worthy conclusion of the depiction.

Among the main performers of this edition, we highlight Antonio Leggieri as Jesus and Angela Mele in the role of Mary. Other prominent figures will be portrayed by Mimmo Cirillo (Peter), Angelo Iozzi (Pilate), Pasquale De Maggio (Herod), Christian Rizzo (Judas), Claudia Schirano (Magdalene), Donato Sanpietro (John), Michele Rizzo (Caiaphas), Antonio Mattesi (Zera), Antonio Briganti (Aaron), Pasquale Cavallo (Centurion), Maurizio My (Joseph of Arimathea), Leonardo Franco (Nicodemus), Maria Grazia Schinai (Herodias), and Elena Perrone (Claudia Procula).

This year, the representation has also received the privilege and honor of being awarded the moral patronage of the Archdiocese of Taranto, in addition to those confirmed by the Province of Taranto and the Region of Puglia.
A special thanks goes to the Lizzano municipal administration for the moral and financial support it always grants to the representation.

This year, among the many distinguished guests attending the event, we want to mention **THOMAS HUMMEL** from Salmunster (Germany), **President of Europassion**, the European association which includes 90 Associations from 16 European countries, whose aim is to safeguard, enhance, and promote the Holy Representations of the Passion of Christ and the Holy Week rites in Europe. He will be accompanied by **LUKAS KOMHERR**, another friend of the Pietre Vive association, to stay a few days in Lizzano (TA) and attend the performance on April 13.

*The event will be streamed live on the Pietre Vive aps YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@pietrevive), and we recommend subscribing to avoid any connection issues during the live broadcast.*
