The pleasure and art of recounting the past serve as a pretext to gently step into the magical world of fantasy, traveling through poems in the company of Ulysses. Two bards narrate some of the adventures, considered the most playful and suitable for the theater, faced by the Hero of Ithaca. Initially, through a flashback, he tells his story and wanderings to the king of the Phaeacians, Alcinous, his daughter Nausicaa, and the entire court. Ulysses, after embracing his beloved wife Penelope, his son Telemachus, and his dog Argos, is led by Menelaus and Palamedes to set sail for Troy in Asia Minor, where he fights against Priam and his soldiers, defeating them thanks to the trick of the horse. After yet another storm, he is thrown onto the island of the Cyclops, saving himself from Polyphemus with another trick by telling him his name is Nobody; from this moment, he gains a new powerful enemy, Poseidon, the Cyclops' father. After further sailing, Ulysses meets Aeolus, Lord of the Winds, who helps by having only the west wind blow at his ship's stern. Our Hero and his men reach the island of the witch Circe, defeated with Hermes' help, and face the six-headed monster Scylla, the terrifying Charybdis, and the wicked Sirens; finally, Ulysses arrives in Ithaca roughly twenty years after his departure and, with the aid of Athena and his son Telemachus, confronts and defeats the Suitors, unruly pretenders to Penelope. Here are the astonishing adventures of the king of “deceitful tales,” Ulysses or Odysseus, a journey into the past while seated comfortably in a theater chair, nothing electronic, just the power of imagination bringing stories to life with its characters, an hour to break away from computers and video games, convinced that artificial intelligence without human intelligence does not exist and is a black hole in which to get lost like Ulysses at the mercy of the waves. Actors, marottes, colorful drapes, some musical instruments, a suitcase...and then the spotlight illuminating the bodies of the bards and a musical commentary that accompanies the journey.
