A journey between tradition and visual allure
The exhibition, part of the Borgo InFiore Conversano program, enriches the cultural offer of the city with a display dedicated to the essence of Holy Week. This centuries-old tradition intertwines faith, emotion, and visual spectacle, offering an immersive experience. Through the images of Mimmo Donghia, visitors will rediscover the contrast between light and shadow, spirituality and popular ritual, silence and the sound of the drums marking the time of Passion.
**MIMMO DONGHIA:** the visual storyteller
The most authentic stories are not always told through words, but with images capable of stopping time. Mimmo Donghia, born in Conversano in 1980, is a photographer and videomaker who has been able to transform reality into a meaningful visual narration. Through his art, Donghia gives voice to gestures, looks, and atmospheres, capturing the essence of local traditions.
With a background in Historical and Social Sciences from the University of Bari, he developed an interest in anthropological and religious events from a young age, which he later explored through photography and videomaking. His artistic research goes beyond simple documentation: he interprets, unveils, and narrates, turning each image into an open window on the past and collective emotions.
Author of docu-films for major regional events, Donghia stands out for his ability to capture the emotional intensity of every scene. His works restore the solemnity of a moment, the silence full of meaning, and the symbolic strength of gestures passed down through the centuries.
In addition to his artistic activity, he is a lead instructor for video and editing courses in the Apulia Region, aiming to share not just a technique but also a vision and a unique way of telling the world through the camera.
Thanks to his talent, Donghia manages to transform the ephemeral into eternal, using light as ink and time as narrative.
Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to immerse yourself in an image-driven storytelling that celebrates the spirituality and tradition of Conversano's Holy Week. We look forward to seeing you at the Monastery of Santa Chiara from April 13 to April 21, 2025!
