Art & photography
The new project "INNESTI," curated by Graziella Melania Geraci, kicks off on April 19. It showcases contemporary artworks in dialogue with elements of design and modern antiques within the spaces of Resìna, a reference point for collectors and interior enthusiasts in the heart of Ceglie Messapica. In the rooms of the 18th-century Allegretti palace, the paintings and sculptures of Mireze Aerts, Pierluca Cetera, and Massimo Ruiu blend with the existing design elements, developing new perspectives and unexpected scenarios. The historic location, with its frescoed vaulted interiors, has hosted vintage furniture selected by Francesco Iervolino and his staff since 2018. It is in these environments that INNESTI opens to different aesthetic models, seducing through the changing abstraction of the artistic product.
Mireze Aerts' painting thrives on the intimate silences between broad expanses of color that define a timeless space. In a motionless universe without depth, where everything appears on the surface, stand figures drawn from the diary of memory, from moments lived, chosen, and suspended, set in muffled expressionist atmospheres. The layers with which the artist defines the canvas amplify the journey of the inner voyage, while the reflections insinuated in the emotional stratifications demand attention and a deep and consistent investment with one's actions.
Massimo Ruiu's works stage subtle linguistic and visual reversals in the continuous search for balances on which to move classical lines and drawings. These are the games of cultured enjoyment with which the artist playfully stimulates relations between simple objects and signifiers. The appropriation of a cryptic dimension, yet rich in interpretive solutions, determines the ever-evolving artistic act, never static and always ready to rotate its arrangement according to a precise stylistic code.
For Pierluca Cetera, the sense of the tragic and the mysterious merges with a universe populated by portraits that conceal or expose a carnal nudity, a physical sense that contrasts with the delicacy of velvet and the lucidity of uniform backgrounds. It is thus that a variety of bodies is shown to judgment through a gesture with edgy relations or hedonistic sensations. An unsettling charm of images with structural autonomy displays a unique matrix that relates different versions of a universal humanity.
The INNESTI exhibition will be open until June 15, 2025, from Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
