**Synopsis**
In the '90s and '00s Apulia, awash with pizzica, reggae, and hip-hop, the "exception that proves the rule" was born: the A.S.P. collective - Amplified Synaptic Project. A handful of passionate musicians and youths, fuelled by unexpressed needs, created a unique music scene, a subculture unparalleled in the experiences of those years. Intertwined destinies, tales of failures and unexpected successes, led the author, an outsider, to establish a DIY booking agency and record label. A whirlwind of concerts, tours, festivals, and social centres unfolds in a seemingly unpredictable timeline of events. The global scene of nu-metal, crossover, punk, hardcore, metal, and metalcore influences the fate of a generation of Apulian youths and beyond.

**Author**
Francesco "Underscore," born in Bari in 1975. Founder of the A.S.P. collective (Amplified Synaptic Project), he managed the artistic direction of the "StopOver" Pub in Giovinazzo (BA) for several years, organizing nu-metal, crossover, punk, hardcore, and metal concerts in the early '00s. Previously, in the late '90s, he was a freelance DJ, collaborating with pubs and venues in Apulia, most notably with the Csoa "Coppolarossa" in Adelfia (BA), a collaboration that lasted several years. Later, in the early '00s, he founded the "A.S.P. Promotion," a booking and promotion agency dedicated to Apulian bands. A few years later, he established "Synaptic Records," a DIY record label focused solely on hardcore and metalcore, producing Italian and international bands and organizing concerts and tours in Italy, Europe, and beyond.
